Road Tax

Based on http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/?deriv=26138#manu=10172&model=1269&deriv=26138 I was expecting my annual road tax to be £110 - my car was registered 30 July 2004 - but got my renewal reminder in today and it's £125 (according to the reminder and my V5 the CO2 is actually 148!).

2005 05 ASZ engine

6 months £68.75

12 months £125.00

c02 = 146 G/KM

guess newer ones 06 onwards BLT engine are less due to being Euro 4 whereas the older models (ASZ) are Euro 3!

Still cheap though!

Goin by parkers and the lad on here with the 53 plate at £110

the differences in 2003 to 2004 car's must be due to the gearbox?

the newer HDS gearbox must be less economical?

strange :/

28 Jul 2003 – 1 Sep 2004 £60.50 £110.00 E 138

1 Sep 2004 – 1 Jan 2007 £68.75 £125.00 F 143-146

1 Jan 2007 – 31 Mar 2007 £60.50 £110.00 E 140

That table doesn't make any sense - I've always understood the gearbox change was late 2003-early 2004 - nowhere near as late as September.

And can anyone advise what happened on 1 January 2007? And did production cease in 31 March 2007?

I pay £125 on mine and its a BLT (2006)..... :|

When did you last tax it? My car was taxed in Feb this year (before I bought it) and was £125, but in April this year the bands have changed.

The renewal next Feb will be £110. The Mrs's Beetle is the same.

Mine is Apr 2007 vRS BLT btw

Bought the car on April 19th the garage serviced and MOT'd it for me before I picked it up. Well.. if it goes back down to £110 that sounds good.

Depends on when you bought it, as car tax prices changed April 2010

??????????????????????????

I repeat:

"I've just looked at my car and it say £110 - but when I bought it in July the garage charged £120 !!!!! I'll be asking for a refund!"

My tax disc says on it £110

I bought it in July

The car sale invoice say "Road Tax £120"

It does seem a bit hit and miss. I've just got rid of a 2007 vRS with a BLT engine (obviously) and the tax on that was £110 - according to the registration document the emissions are 140g/km.

How do you find out what engine you have?

My VRS was registered in Janurary 06, I assume this is a BLT?

Thanks
