Fabias with "unavailable options" ?

Featured Replies

Hmm.

Looking around as one does for a replacement vehicle and on the skoda used cars web site, there are some furbies with interesting "options".

Some have 17" alloys. OK, I guess they're just the octy RS alloys which have been fitted. Anyone aware of a dealer doing this or would it only ever be a customer who's done it and sold / part-exd the motor ?

More interestingly, there's the (overpriced) one at Rainworth (which I think is the one Des posted about a couple of weeks ago) and it has front/rear electric windows. Is this a typo? I know the Fabia RS in France (and they call it RS and not vRS) comes with rear leccy windows and obviously, the RS trim is different so it can't be knicked from an old Elegance spec furby...

Then there's the one up at St Andrews, here for a modest

The Fabia at Rainworth motors was discussed at length a few months ago (maybe August) it has Revo, N2O, 18" wheels? etc.

Xavier.

Dealers will fit just about anything if a customers hassles & pays them enough to do it.

I think it's safe to say every extra you've mentioned is a custom fit accessory, and not an option in any way, shape or form.

When I got the brochures at the end of 2001 when I was looking at my Fabia, I'm pretty sure the Elegance spec used to include Rear electric windows as standard (as well as front ones).

I think they stopped doing them in 2002 at some point (?). I can't get your link to work on my PC - but if it's an old Fabia Elegance the rear electric windows may have been factory fitted as standard.

Build Week 47 in 2001 was the last possible build date for a Fabia with Rear Electric Windows in the elegance. Xav, I might be able to pop round the Glasgow one and check.....

As stated in Xavier's post, he's looking for another Fabia vRS.

No electric windows available on UK models. Unless you do some modding :)

For anybody interested, have a look at this Black 53 plate 2004 VRS at my local Subaru dealership up here in Scotlandshire for

I couldn't get the link to work so thought the car at Rainworth might have been an Elegance.

Xav, I've popped out to the garage and it appears that this car actually does have proper leather vRS seats! I was getting a few strange looks as I wanderd down the road looking at number plates! I have photos and I will upload in a minute.

Would really hack me off as the Mrs hates the standard seat covers in the vRS. Nearly got forced to buy a non-vRS to get 'approval' ;)

Why did they take the electric windows off the rears, anyway? Esp for the vRS...?

Cost saving maybe? I'm surprised that it's not even a dealer-fit option though.....

Chris

Alot of the dealers use a company called transcal to trim the cars with leather - they did mine with silver/black leather/alcantara - looks great too!

Me too. :(

Yeah sure - but I still reckon my rear windows will wind down faster than yours :P;)

they are re-trimmed fabia seats, not octy vRS seats.

Colin, thanks very much taking the trouble of going over to take some snaps. Does look rather nice. I may get that done, but agree with Geoff regarding the most economical way is doing the mods yourself one you have the car.

Having said that, it is black and does have xenons ;)

Nah, it's too much. Must resist and find a closer / cheaper one and get the seats done myself later if I deem that worthwhile.

But also, it does annoy me. Thanks to your photo, you can physically see the car has xenons. It really gets on my nerves when they fail to mention a

It probably is. Although I was a little confused and took the Rainworth one for the one Des posted about a couple of weeks ago, here

I'll do some digging and see if I find anything :)

Only picture is the one on the Skoda used car website
