VRS Running LED's

Featured Replies

Just wondering but does anyone with the VRS LED running lights get glashed by other syupid drivers who think you have your fog lights on. Its becoming more and more regular with me, i even had a car in front of me the other day and he didnt want to turn off his hazards until i turned off my 'fog lights'. I wonder if Audi owners have the same problems?

Never had this problem..

maybe its because I look like a thug and they don't want to risk provoking me..

.. or maybe not!

Yes!

Several times and on one occasion the chap wound his window down and gave me the royal wave!

No big deal, sure they went home and were put right by there children lol

Never had an issue in the close to 3 months I have owned my VRS (not flashed once).

Been flashed once by someone too old to drive in a corolla - soon set him straight with my Xenons, main beam, front fogs and DRL's in his face!

How do you turn them off whilst moving? I can only turn mine off when stationary?

Once...An old bloke ....Bless him...He probably flashes Audi's too!! :giggle:

When my wife gets her Fabia vRS, I expect her to get flashed at more as hers are in the fog light housing!

Don't think you can turn them off on the move. Turning the side lights on dims them down though.

Had people slow down too when I am behind them (usual response is people to speed up though).

Both ways feels kind of wrong. Afraid we will just have to put up with it until the use of DRL becomes more common.

stick your dipped beams on and then your fogs !!

You cant whilst on the move

Thing is, as they are soooo rude, sometimes something deep down inside of me likes to see them get infuriated. I just smile but its getting a more and more regular thing now!

The mounting for the M61 gatling gun is still not available from Skoda I am afraid. Probably be a little expensive anyway.

its becoming less of a problem as more and more cars are getting them..new mercs and fords with them in roughyl the same place

so people are just becoming more familiar with them

no had anyone annoyed with my DRL's where are you driving getting this annoyance since we're in similar areas?

Lot's of people drive with there fogs on thinking there DRL's..................To$$ers

It always tends to happen on my commute to and from work which involves a quick dash along the M4 between port Talbot and Llandarcy and then up the a465 to Merthyr

have been flashed a lot for having the DL's

in fact the missus reckons they take the eye out of your head they are so bright

the A4 drl are more like fancy fairy lights but the A6 are fairly bright

The Skoda DRLs are OK in the scheme of things. Maybe a tad annoying, but all new cars will have them soon I guess so everyone will get used to them.

The Audi ones are a different matter, look more tacky than a Halfords special. I guess they get flashed for looking like Blackpool Illuminations with all those poncy illuminated squiggles!!

Whilst fog lights are to be used in the fog it has to be said I have never been dazzled by a car using its front fog lights incorrectly.

There are certainly high mounted DRL's that are brighter, but again never bright enough to dazzle.

At least not to the point I've felt it necessary to dazzle them and others with a flash of main beam in retaliation.

Whether other motorists are confusing DRL's with fogs or not they are no better if they think the right thing to do is flash back :wonder:

had this twice in the last two days had a chap coming towards me in an accord with full beam flashing and swerving towards me pointing at my lights, grr.

today had a chap in a fiesta do the same and had my blood boil and turned around after him but got stopped at traffic lights.

any way you can turn these off ? if this is going to keep happening i may get upset with the offending driver and put his lights out.

Never been flashed. There are so many cars with DRLs out there now, surely even the most easily irritated buffoon has got the message - they're here to stay!!

Never had a problem personally, I think the merc dlr's are very bright compared to the vrs.

I've need tried turning them off, probably because I can't see an obvious way of doing it atm......

[quote name='Hyperviper34' I think the merc dlr's are very bright compared to the vrs.

yes the mercs are too bright

but the octy vRS ones look fabulous imo

just the right brightness,,leave them on people,,

it adds a touch of class

Just had a classic this evening coming home - Thought I would share it with you. This email to the chap sums it up I think:

I presume that this is you David who was driving the Smart on the M54 on Friday evening towards the M6. You were flashing your rear fog light at me (Red Octavia VRS).

I can only presume that you were flashing your rear fog as you assumed (wrongly) that I had my front fog lights on. I don't know where you have been for the last few years but the lights that you saw on the front of my car are called Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Please use google or this link http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/safety/daytime-running-lights.html.

I suggest that you get used to this as they can't be switched off and are soon to become law. You will have also noticed that I was flashing my front fogs at you to indicate that I hadn't got them on.

After I have received a written apology from yourself I suggest that before you try and be rent a cop again in your own (illegal) car i suggest that you get your headlights aligned as the front passenger beam is pointing in totally the wrong direction and blinding other road users.

It is also rather foolish to indimidate other law abiding citizens in a bright orange Smart with your company website address plastered all over it and a picture of you on your website...Just a shame your mobile number isn't working as it would have saved me typing this.
