Got My Latest Fabia Still not sure was Right Decision.

Featured Replies

Hey Wayne,

I bought the silver one, it's a very nice example. I didn't realise though until I got home that the rear spoiler blew off on the motorway!!!!! I am going to have a look when I clean it tomorrow as it's a bit grimey where the spoiler was, if it cleans up I don't think I'll stick another on. I wonder how much the spoilers go for?

Anyway, hopefully this is the only thing that goes wrong, seems like a well built little car.

Thanks Rob.

Gutted for ya mate.

Oh Jesus Rob, Really sorry, honestly didn't know it was loose, but now you mention it the Garage I bought it from did say something about spraying the rear spoiler as well as the bumper, when I bought it, didn't even n otice anything wrong with the spoiler so presumed the girl had made some sort of mistake. It had totally skipped mt mind until you mentioned it coming off.

I will contact them and tell them what happened, see if they will cover some of the cost as that is unacceptable.

Really am sorry about that mate....

Hope the rest of the car is ok, it really was a good motor, never had any problems with it apart from the battery going flat the other night which I'm sure was just down to me having the Stereo turned on with the amp for about 4-5 hours whilst I cleaned it last week. Hope that's ok now.

Will be in touch about the spoiler, if you could send me a picture of it that I can show the Garage that may help.

Nice to meet you and all the best with the car.

Wayne

Danger of double meaning there which I'll obviate.

It was something to do with the earlier BLT engines when they replaced the ASZ engines in late 2005/early 2006. There was a Skoda fix to cure it and certainly I've not noticed it at all on my late BLT engine...

Well my '07 plate (reg Apr 07) vRS used to Stutter 'like a bitch' when I first got it. The gasket was never changed on these in production between early and late BLT engines, they all got the same gasket in them, only attempt at a fix was the ropey Skoda dealer fix post purchase if you went and moaned about it.

That's great Wayne thanks, I didn't even realise. Hope it didn't hit anyone or anything, ridiculous that it's not screwed on. Yeah still happy with the car, great mileage and happily zips along the motorway apart from wanting to get undressed. I'll send you some pics later, thanks Rob.
