Nissan Juke

Featured Replies

Seen several of these this week on the raods, and they're a) fricking huge, and B) fugly as hell.

Also confused by the adverts. 1st small urban crossover? Eh?

I think they're hideous aswell.

I think they look quite good!! There is something of a Baja Bug kinda stance to my eyes (if that makes sense) and it looks ……..well……………..funky. I like it emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Although I have to say a colleague of mine rolled up in a new Peugeot RCZ the other day and I thought that looked terrific. You would think it was a sophisticated mid engined car if you didn't know better.

Oops forgot to add I think the TV advert for the Juke is seriously odd too.

Quite like the RCZ as well. Looks quite expensive and german unless you know better.

They are hideous.

I like it.

I have only seen the advert on tv and not seen one on the road yet, but i looks blooming horrible.

a) fricking huge

They're not all that large! It's basically a 4x4'd Micra, although more cramped in the rear. Quite like 'em myself (think it looks better in the metal than in pictures though), and it's certainly a bit different...

I quite like them.

My gripe is that they've given them this fantastic, wacky exterior and gone for the cheapest, blandest most boring dashboard and interior ever created.

No exactly a good combination for sales.

Much as I do like the exterior, I can't see the design aging too well though...

With working at the plant where they're made I see them day in, day out and have to say I think they're pretty cool and are something different, I agree they're not to everyones liking but apparently Nissan think that they could tempt people that have never bought a Nissan before. Talking of ugly though the Cube is bloody awful...

The top of the range model is a 1.6 turbocharged 197bhp(ish) which should be interesting! Just in case anyone hasn't seen it watch the link...

Nissan "Juke" - It's a typo isn't it, and should be Nissan Joke! ;)

Nope it should be Nissan Puke. Though in saying that we need to embrace quirkyness. I like it. Though it is way to small for my needs. Will be bought by people upgrading from their tiny no-boot-or-rear-doors MINIs. So basically it will be estate agents' new vehicle of choice.

I was in a few of them at the Paris Motor show this past weekend and the best bit to me is their centre stack buttons that can change function:

BMW iDrive eat your heart out! What a simple and elegant solution to having too many buttons!

Actually iDrives biggest problem was it had too few buttons, They rectified this by adding a few more and then 8 soft keys which can be radio stations (they are placed in that sort of area), sat nav destinations etc. You press and hold to assign a key so it is super simple. Key 8 was always my home destination as it meant i didn't have to fire up the sat nav or anything, just press the number 8 button and home I went. Contrast this with my 16 buttons, 2 rotary controllers (one with 8 way directional control) in the Audi! The Audi had too many buttons for me really, I can work a menu Audi!

I like the look of it, but it would be too small for me....

Sorry, but i think it really is vomit inducing. Headlights look all wrong, and that's just the first bit that you see.

Saw one on the road for the first time this afternoon, and what was directly behind it?

One of those disgustingly vile new Renault 'Tigra' things.

Now that really IS gross. Felt sorry for the poor geezer with a bin liner over his head, Hamster style, that must have been delivering it to a local hairdresser.

The front is a bit ‘Cylon’ but the side view and the rear view are quite taught imho. If they could make the front a little less busy, it would be a great looking little car :)

Now THAT'S ugly !

Nope, the Puke is awful and I'm willing to bet the ECG gearbox in the RCZ is just as cr*p as the design of the Nissan.

That's correct, but the original i(don't)Drive(Ispendalltripfiddlingwiththisthing) ;) was a response to complaints that the cars had "too many too small buttons".

I loved mine once I got the hang of it. But it was the soft keys that made the difference. Brilliant idea and they can be assigned to almost any function that the iDrive can access. I would call mine iDrive 1.5 though. The latest version has added a few more buttons and is reckoned to be up there with the Merc system if not better. Sadly the Audi system is a bit too cluttered by modern standards :(

I quite like them , they are different

But suppose it could be that they are an aquired taste , so it makes them interesting????

But will do for me , so a thumbs up , but suppose I will never have one

Felicia Fun with a 1.9TDi engine in  now your talking LOL

Sarah

It's diffrent but I would rather own a Yeti or Qashqai.

Nissan have definately lost the plot recently. Always had Nissan's till I got my Octavia last year, but since the demise of the Primera there is just nothing in the range that I like or is practical. They all seem to be quirky and/or pseudo SUV's. Qashquai came closest but the boot is too small (and I can't spell it either).

Saw a Juke in the metal yesterday and it is pretty awful - it's those huge round lights I think...

I suppose at least it is different. There is something called the Tiida (no idea how you are supposed to say that) that they sell in Ireland, and presumably elsewhere too, that - particularly in four door 'saloon' form - is possibly the most bland and least innovative thing I have ever seen :o
