Ripping to MP3 from hard drive?

Featured Replies

Never had to do this before, so throwing this out too Briskoda.

Normally its a case of insert CD, rip CD, job's a good'un. This time I've been given a CD by my Dad to rip to MP3, from work. (paying job! luvverly :D) but upon analysis of the CD, its made of four folders containing 800mb of WAV files, but audio-crap-alyst (which normally is fine for CD ripping) only sees this CD as a single 800mb data file, *bugger! :(

So, I've physically written every file into another folder on my desktop, but of course audio-crap-alyst only reads from CDs. :rolleyes: Anyone suggest some freeware ;) software I can get MP3s from WAV files on my computer, as well as straight off a CD?

Thanks in anticipation! :thumbup::D

Doesnt Audiograbber have the ability to create MPS from any file format, whether on CD or hard drive?

I would suggest copy and pasting the 4 sections individually to hard disk, then giving it a whirl.

ps..Audiograbber is now freeware :D

ps..failing that, how about write 4 cds with a section each?

EAC - the best CD ripper available (can successfully rip a CD that's been used as a coaster - almost) (and it's freeware ) also has an option to 'process WAVs'. You then need to have a copy of the LAME command line encoder stored somewhere - point EAC at it and Robert is your mother's live-in lover.

Sounds complicated but it's really quite straight-forward when you get going. Try www.hydrogenaudio.org forums for advice and info.

Download and install audiograbbler, its now free and very simillar to audiocatalyst. Load the program and press the mp3 button in the toolbar. Select the bitrate etc, and then underneath where it says "create mp3 now" press browse and select your wav file.

cdex owns them all ;)

cdex owns them all ;)

Seconded... especially with a good OGG or radium codec :D
