i dont think so mate, lecturer done me a favour letting me in, but i wouldnt like to ask again.

Looking great, I'd there enough clearance between the front caliper and wheel for a wheel weight? I'm getting my front and rears fitted tomorrow night :) just wondering if I'll need to remove the weight weight for clearance lol in sure the weight is no more than 5-6 mm thick

yeh mate the front wheels sit in there perfectly, fills it up nicely :) theres still a fingerspace gap i reckon

Excellent :)

Did you need those 2xm10 copper washers in the end?

Anything else needed? I just hope it goes smoothly lol

went smoothly, did use 2 washers on each side

my 3 week old alpine media unit decided to randomly burn out yesterday. smoke started coming out the dash, worrying! will be getting sent back tomorrow hopefully! gutted as its a cracking unit, thing didnt even fuse!

Quick questions, are the grooves facing the right way? My front ones are the same as your ls but my rears are the opposite. Confused lol apparently the veins inside the disc are more important but I can't remember if they are anglesey or not

  • Author

are the grooves suppose to go a certain way? i never thought about it actually! i just picked on up handed to the bro and he bapped it on

The grooves are supposed to go with the rotation of the wheel. By looking at it, your front ones are the wrong way round mate!

back right

front left

back right is correct, front left is wrong.

F**K, yeah once i looked at the pics there i thought the backs looks right but the fronts are wrong! would this affect braking? i still thought they have been great lol, will get them swapped over when i get a chance

It must effect braking to a certain degrees, else they wouldn't be rotational. I wouldn't have thought it would be horrendously noticeable though, think the groove help with her dispersion, so just take it steady.

hmmm. will look at them tomorrow hopefully, got lik a 4 mile round trip to work and back tonight so should be ok

Your supposed to stick a pencil in the middle of the disc faces. And the pencil should point forwards..

IIRC one of the polo boys went for a couple of months before someone pointed it out, so don't stress too much

Eh??

Tbh the grooves on the face of the discs won't make much difference if any, its the angle of the veins in the middle of the disc, I don't think ours are angled from what I can see so It won't matter what way. you look at lots of cars and they all vary, mine all face the same way so I don't mind lol

Eh??

Generally the internal veins go the same way as the grooves, so going by that and the pencil analogy which ie seen myself then the front ones are correct. I've been looking all day but can't find anything conclusive

i dno i googles drilled and grooved dicks on images and most wheels show then going the other way. ive done over 300 miles since fitting i think and no problems at all stick out. no noises nada

You won't get noises.. It would be fine no doubt, just more chance of the pads wearing out because of the way the discs cut into the pads.
