I have purchased a set of car mats from MRCARMATS.COM two weeks ago have not seen or heard from them since. I have tried ringing and emailing for 4 days in a row and had no reply at all.I have been forced to make a claim through Paypal with whom I paid through. I don't know if they have gone bankrupt or not but they have taken my £53 and disappeared. This is just a warning to save other members the same problem.

I know that its popular nowadays to have such trendy sites and not to reveal your addresses, but I insist that I can identify a company as a traditional point of presence before buying, unless known that its been long running e.g. eurocarparts

If you use this principle you are less likely to be stung from more than one direction (including product quality as well)...although I must profess that there are times I feel its necessary to order from lesser known quantities.

Given you paid by paypal though, no more or less worse than getting ripped off by an ebay seller - although at least they have feedback system to go by.

I had a real game getting a refund off paypal for a supplier website outside ebay before so certainly would never trust on this for honesty/ recovery of debt alone.

I also wouldn't trust google "pay per click" sponsors as being honest as many of these are highly dubious from my direct experience

The truth is that the web is far less secure and trustworthy than many people would like to think.

If you got there from a highly ranking google site then complain to them /

blog to name and shame them as well as the vendor (too late, you already have lol)

A quick search on google reveals that they have quite a good customer base

Looks like the mats maybe custom made, hence the delay. UK sales law says to allow up to 28 days for delivery anyway. The company does have a lot of good feedback, and very little negative and is popular on may car forums.

They should still answer the phone or reply to emails though, not to do so is bad manners at the very least.

I've never used them, but I would guess that they don't make the mats themselves and that they don't keep stock in. Or perhaps they might only keep a small amount of stock of their more popular requests.

They probably just place an order for the mats with their supplier once they have received payment. It's a good risk free way of getting money for nothing basically, as they are just matching a buyer to a product and taking some commission on each deal.

I used these to get some for my MD's car, the ones we ordered didnt suit the car (colour) finally got through to them told them the problem and arranged a new set, took a little while but reults were finally good.
