Time for an vRS?

Featured Replies

Hi guys (and gals?) just thought id check in here. Have loved the Octavia vRS since i first clapped eyes on one when they came out. And at last the time may at last be right to get one. (my v old Primera egt is fading fast and I also notice that the vRS has become quite popular!).

What i want to know from any kindly soul/s out there - is can i get a decent enough example for 7k? - or is 8k going to make much of a difference? What are the bad points to watch out for?? Ive heard the coil packs go, but that this is replaceable at Skoda's cost?

Firstly Hello and Welcome:D

and i'd say you'l get a better one for 8k but that goes without saying.

and your like me i loved the Octy vRS from the first time i saw it at the NEC Motorshow in red and said to myself i'd always have one.

good luck in your search GTTIM.

Thanks WrightyRS :) Now that ive made the decision to get one, ill try and stop myself from getting the first one i see! Black or Silver i reckon. Im assuming the best place to get one from is a Skoda dealership thats taken a trade in? (even if its a little over the odds)

Well i would have a look around all the usual places but you should get a better deal if you choose to purchase from a Skoda dealer as there finance rates are generally lower than most other garages.

i know my local dealer has a couple of Octy vRS for sale a white one(WRC) and a black one not sure on the prices but if you go to the Skoda Website then you can do a search and bring up all the cars in your area.

i'm in Essex so if your nearby and want convincing that you'll want to get a re-map then get in touch you can take mine for a drive.

good luck in your search by the way:D

Not the first to leave the Primera GT behind, myself included some 3 years a go.

There are a few others aswell who have had the GT :)

Cracking car just not enough power by todays list.

7k is roughly what the dealers seem to be offering on 51 plates, maybe the odd one older. 8k will of course get you more, as would 9 and so on. There are alot out there to be picked from and remember we live on a small island, so you can always go further a field.

You might miss the taughtness of the Primera's response. It's easily fixed, although it's a long time since I drove the GT so I've begun to forget what it felt like. Have added strut brace and ARB's to mine and it now feels as good as the GT did, with 75 odd more brake horse. :)

Hi and welcome from a former Primera GT owner  You may find the handling a little more supple(bouncy?) than the Primera but thats more than made up for by the performence :)

Cheers guys. Yeh guess i just want a bit more power than the 150 ive got :D Im in Cambridge actually so not too far from your goodself WrightyRS. Perhaps when i find the one i want you can give me a demo of what im missing (about 50bhp by the sounds of it!).

Yeh that is a little bit more than i can really manage at the moment - funny how it creeps up eh? There is one with 44k on the clock for 7750 not too far from me. Sorry for all the questions guys, but thanks for the answers! Dont suppose anyone knows anything about cargiant.co.uk?

As i have said elsewhere in this forum GTTIM, put simply.............you won't find a better performance car for the money ! On my second one now (1st one company car) and still get the buzz every time i get in it ! Tend to find that they are considerably cheaper up north. got mine from network Q in Kirkcaldy..........and i live in bournemouth !!!!! 52 plate 17k miles, under
