Black headlamps, black car - I think I like them

Featured Replies

That sounds like a plan, I have used parcel2go previously and they are very reasonable. If you can PM me with the details, I'll get on it.

 believe it or not, that isn't a spelling mistake........its the word some of us use instead of cr@p, as any form of swearing will be in breach of the forum t&c's.

No worries, I'll size it up and PM you tonight

Christ! don't give him ideas :giggle:

Well, donor headlamp arrived today - thanks to muckipup  - but unfortunately 'Project Black Lamp' is a non-starter, it seems the lens cover is glued to the bulb housing with some type of sealant, and after an hour of work, I was still nowhere near seperating the buggers!!

Sorry to hear that Lee  It did look a bit glued down but I was hoping you could dremmel the lenses off or get at the reflectors from a hole cut in the base

You know, I liked these things in the first place now every time I see the front of my car, I keep thinking how much better it would look with the black lamps.

I think I will treat myself when I get the pennies

Brimma - is the intensity of the light definitely not too much deteriorated?

I drove to Manchester and back in the dark the day after fitting them and didn't ditch it

I did have to wind the load leveller up to 1.5 or 2 as a few people flashed me, but after that they were fine - may just need a proper realignment

Yeah, this really has got to stop or I need to find a cheaper 'crisis' :giggle:

Brimma - sorry, one last question...The website says "Here we have a brand new PAIR OF HALOGEN BLACK SPORTS HEADLAMPS". I take it these are a straight swap for the standard OEM lamps (i.e. the word 'halogen' doesn't imply anything)

Yes, straight swap - they are maybe pointing out that they are not xenons, since every man and his dog has xenons these days :dull:

Wasnt sure how these would look but they look mint

Yeah, unfortunately I do those too

Thanks for the answers!

Yeah, they look great but I think you're right - I failed my first MOT because the dealer had inadvertently put a European spec replacement headlamp on my car

Which is now sitting in my garage looking very sorry for itself?? :giggle:

I'm saying nothing to SWMBO - she got them off the site mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm sure she'll extract the money back from me sooner or later in some subtle way :smirk:
