Inspired by Vrs Bob's pics of his snow socks in action (thread here) I think we need a proper thread devoted to all your pics of octavias in the snow.

I'll start:

This morning, Oxfordshire. Its about -4, not much snow as you can see, but its been so cold that that is actually snow from TUESDAY that still hasn't melted.

And one from the weekend. This is up in Yorkshire, somewhere near Keighley - my Vrs next to my brothers Scout tdi. Nice blue sky as you can see but its still sub zero.

From last winter, it was -7. I'd already driven past the road closed ahead sign, but stopped before the actual road closed sign. It was still on summer tyres too.

Skoda in Snow by ritcheyp20, on Flickr

Edited by P20

At lunch today we bought a snowboard and went snowboarding at the local hill for an hour! Back at work now with achey legs and wet trousers!!  This morning I had to shovel a boat out of the snow in our yard to show someone round it, who then bought it!! Best day at work ever!

Pictures to follow…..

Here she is with her socks on... ;)

Will you be helping her with her shoes next?! :giggle:

I've got winter "boots" on the way for her and we'll soon have a "foot" of snow...... :giggle:

I like it! I will be buying these socks for my VRS for next time when we have snow. Do they work really well in the snow? or would winter tyres be better? How much are the boots? :giggle:

Spot the Skoda ... maybe I should have kept the red one at least it would have stood out a bit! We have around three feet of lying snow ... no school all week (Teacher not pupil), must have shovelled tons of snow, council has declared a weather emergency .... and to think we should have been caravanning this weekend but the caravan is just a big snow drift on the drive!

When will it all end??

Blimey thats a lot of snow. You have my sympathy.

On a positive note you'd didn't have to go caravanning.. :p

I hope it all ends very soon as it's making my life very difficult and expensive. I have to take a taxi to and from work on the request from my manager that expects you to even turn up to work if the world was submerged :( I don't suppose he's going to pay my £50 a day taxi journeys do you? If it keeps on snowing for another week it's going to cost me £300 in taxi fairs!!!!! Not happy at all. :(

Saw -10 on the M1 today!

And with illegal use of fog light :o

Extremely irresponsible I know, had to be done though as I don't reckon I'll see that temperature again for a long, long time!

If its any consolation I was on a deserted country road, all be it in dense freezing fog :p

And with illegal use of fog light :o

I'm very impressed with your ability to see the weather conditions from my picture

Day 1 of the snow was pretty...

It was a bit nippy this morning...

Getting a bit fed up of the snow now. Where we haven't cleared the road it is 4 feet deep (taken from the driver's window as I was leaving - too cold to get out again!).

My wife < Head teacher > her school was the only one to open in Bradford on Friday and she walked to work as she had too leave her car the night before as the 20% hill near her school not gritted with 5 accidents. Cant show a photo of my Octavia it is buried in a snowball on the drive, but I am still cycling to work <on snow tyres> Faster than any car as a heck of a lot of peripheral roads not gritted and roads gridlocked 3 times this week. It took an Ambulance near work with blues and twos 45 mins to go 100 yards on Wednesday :S

Popped up to the Broughton Place car park to see if there was enough snow to go boarding, not quite we need more! Edinburgh has tons though (Avalanche alert on Arthurs Seat - not bad for the middle of a city!!)

Still plenty in the car park!

Descending back to the public road, 60m down and less than a km away!
