Its got a flashing red light on the door switch, i suppose no 17 year old is going to want to rob it i guess!!!!

No I think the boy racers go for the high powered petrol motors, not our old tractors :giggle:

On my old Octy the flashing red light meant that the deadlocks were on...I think. And yes an Elegance spec should have an alarm.

No major issues as yet - changed the battery, glow plugs and coolant temperature myself to cure poor cold starting.

I find mine, which has 113,000 miles on it, drives like it has less than half the miles, still can't believe a diesal can accelerate that quickly :giggle:

Thats how i felt when i got inside it, it looks brand new! No wear on the seats or anything, the engine is as sweet as a nut and its done 126k, when i took it out i floored it and could not believe the power....i've had Golf diesels in the past and they werent as quick as this....very impressed! My Octavia hasnt got the wording on the back of the car its completely blank :( i guess it will make cleaning it easier!

Mines a 51 plate elegance and it doesn't have cruise control or an alarm, just immobiliser and deadlocks

I dont think cruise control was standard on the Elegance, I know of an 04 plate petrol turbo that doesnt have it, just about the only thing the elegance doesnt have though!

Enjoy the new car fella, looks like youve found a good un!

Must off been an added option on mine or someone retro fitted it :wonder:

Picked up the car absolutely love it however I have found a scuff on the rear bumper that's around 3inches long that I didn't spot on the first inspection would this be covered on the warranty if I took it back to be sorted?

Unlikely I suspect. They will probably say you did it! Car dealers seem to have "special stuff" which magically hides minor scratches / chips / scuffed alloys until it rains/you get the car home and then spot them all

Is it best to take it to a skoda dealer or a body shop to get sorted? How do you find out the colour code of your car?

Kato, take it back to Parkside see what they say. They may just do it to keep you happy.

Also you may want to purchase some decent headlight bulbs if you drive at night, cos if the later Octy is as bad as the early Octy the headlights are worse than poor!

Well I got my car back today from the dealership they kindly sorted the scuff out and the drivers speaker in the door panel, got home tonight and the passenger one has done exactly the same and had gone kerput! Would it be a bit cheek to ask them to sort that one out as well??

If you don't ask you don't get! They can only say no or maybe even give a discount on the repair
