No-one told me there were 2 holes behind the Skoda badge!

 :P

Just been out to the car, in the BRIGHT LOVELY sunshine down here, armed with a length of 100lb fishing line, and sawn off the all red TDI badge, and the Skoda badge... Patched up the two holes with some tough tape on either side, awaiting some enquiries by me (DIY (mate) or bodyshop) as how best to fill them in... So far only place I went to said

I was told by the dealer the Skoda badge has the 'two holes' thing but that the Fabia/vRS logo at the back is effectively glued on so that comes off clean.

Bit worried now with that information :(

Hope you are able to get it sorted on the cheap, I reckon you'll best take the car out for a nice spin somewhere to make up for it

"No-one told me there were 2 holes behind the Skoda badge"

I seem to remember we did, when you asked about the rear of Josh's car and we explained why he had put the small vRS badge in the middle.

I've seen it posted here numerous times

Is today the day of "no-one can read my sarcasm in the thread title" ??:rofl:

Of course I knew there were two holes, which is why I was armed with the roll of sticky tape to cover them up once the badge was removed. ;)

Yeah, yeah yeah....

Well, I could prove this by showing the now removed main bit of boot trim which I removed thinking the badge was actually attached from the reverse side. But that obviously wasn't the case so I just continued to hack at it and it popped out. I'm not gonna put that bit of trim back now, until I've lathered the insides with some more of that vinyl tile insulation.

Quite. A classic example of quantity not quality if ever I saw one. ;)

Are you going to take this opportunity to debadge it then ;)

Nah he's saving the badge for his next car cause it must be time to roll this one onto it's roof :D

Generally badges that have pins on the back have at least 2, its so that they can be quickly fitted in the factory & they dont have to spend time aligning them.

If you want to remove badges that are glued on lift up one edge & slide something like a credit card behind it to ease it off, you will also find out if it has pins that way!, the plastic of the card wont damage the paint behind. All thats then left to do is remove the remaining glue. DONT use anything metal as you will invariably mark the paint !!

As for the holes that are left the only proper way to fill them is to fill the hole with weld rub back & surface fill any slight indentations before spraying. Small areas of filler without feathered edges will invariably shrink & in the future you will see some indication of what was there. If

 - good thing to keep spares ;):D :D
