nimbusgrey.jpg

going to paint it in Audi Nimbus Grey, which is a gorgeous pearlescent colour... but the paint is not cheap shall we say!! :wonder:

still on the lookout for a set of skirts and arch mouldings from a felicia fun if anybody has any knocking about, also on the scrounge for some felicia L&K front leather seats and door cards

Edited by TeflonTom

was going to go for a rover 90 or austin somerset

Tom I have the leather steering wheel from my L&K if its any good to ya

it is a bit grubby but not damaged. I sold the door cards for £12 i think on ebyay and the seats went into the missus old felly before we sold it lol.

are you going to fill the seams and stuff and make it all smooth like?

I thought it looked like an austin A40 or something too

Is it an Austin Standard......Vangaurd????

I was going to say Rover P4..

Oh noes! All your lovely rust! :D

I like the colour choice, although it's not like the area is short of grey steel to begin with (wonder how much cheaper that paint is!)

After a quick Google to back up my thoughts, I'm going to take a punt at Morris Major or Wolseley 1500/Riley 1.5.

ping  correct

not too sure about filling the seams up tbh, i'm still hoping to get a set of skirts from a fun at some point

Tom,

Great project! There are not many of these cars that get this treatment. I guess most felly`s will suffer the "rust-death" before 2020 are done. Remember to but in a good quantity of wax oil around after yor project are done :) Keep us updated :)

mini update. primer phase 1 all done, more primer to come and prep to come

edit: roof has been repaired before because there is a plate welded in there (had been done very well too imho) couldn't undo the aerial so it's cut off and binned, decided on filling the aerial hole and smoothing rather then fitting a new one to avoid any future potential leak entry points, have to find a decent internal aerial that goes on the bottom of the windscreen.

visited a company called monsoon 4x4 near eastbourne in sussex, Monsoon 4x4

they knocked me up a tonneau cover for the bed area, it's like a waterproof pvc material, it slides into the C channel on the back of the cab, then pulls over the plastic side rails (hockey sticks :giggle: ) have to drill little holes in the plastic rails and wind in these little popper studs, also has straps so it can be rolled up and stashed against the cab when not in use... i will do a seperate thread on this subject at some point

If they are still going a company that did a coating called PAVA is much better.

I know of a car that was known for rust problems, that was done and there wasn't a spot of it even after the engine gave up
