Can you better this?

Thats an interesting one but, I think its a case of GIGO with the Yeti computer. The alleged distance as shown is a function of the latest AV MPG and the Galls left. So if you were averaging, say, 50-60 mpg the miles left would be shown higher than if you had been doing 40-42. emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Also E=MC2 and the sun goes round the earth which, of course, is flat and 615 miles should take you to the earths edge.emoticon-0121-angry.gif

No, it's more like 625 miles to the edge!

you've started a new competition - drive REALLY economically immediately after a brimmer, and take a photo! Ha!

Good game, Llani !!

Surely that would result in too much variation in the range? Could change by 300 miles from one mintue to the next. I thought these figure were based upon some rolling average of the last 20-50 miles driven? Mzda is supposed to be 50 miles. Does the Skud handbook specify?

I don't care how it does it......................I just thought it was an impressive figure!

And it does seem to be fairly accurate.

I bet if you drive really economically just BEFORE a brimmer (50km I think), it will be better ;)

I'm thinking metric, sorry :)

Best I've seen thus far on mine:

hehehe... alas I did not reset the trip when I filled up as I wanted to keep a tally of the whole trip.

That's quite a nice figure, but I still think there's room for improvement (Do I smell a challenge :giggle: ?)

I was getting at best a range of 560 miles (actually 900 km) in summertime with my DSG Petrol (1.2), so surely the diesel should get better range.

Not good enough!! 146km short, I'm afraid!!

I know. But a petrol engine can't really compete with a diesel when it comes to range (in a similar car). My point was that if I get that sort of mileage from a Petrol surely a diesel should be able do even better :smirk:

Not my auto at the moment. Thinking about it, it is very economical if I drive up the motorway at about 50mph constant, which I had to do recently when I had to use the spare wheel. that was showing about 60mpg!

Is this not a simple case of tricking the Yeti into thinking computing a range that will be far more than realistic?

For example: fill the Yeti up will fuel at a fuel station on a hill, reset the computer and drive down the hill for 300m whilst engine braking so the fuel usage is next to none?

I am far more interested the best ACTUAL range managed with a full tank! :)

Well, put it this way, when I filled up and took the picture I posted previously, I put in 40 litres.

Based on a tank size of 60 litres and the fact that, when I filled up, the trip was reading 450 miles and the fact that just before I filled up, I had something like 20 miles of stop/start town driving, I reckon my 670 miles range isn't too far off the mark.

Umm.

It's supposed to be a bit of fun!! B)

And if you read my original posting I did say that I found the figure to be accurate!!
