Yeti 2012 Model Year-Wish list.

Featured Replies

I've always liked the rear seats in the Honda Jazz and Civic that have seat bases that can tip up. This gives you tons of space there to carry a pot plant or have a dog sit there. They both however have fuel tanks under the front seats to facilitate this - so we won't see this on a Yeti soon. Johnston Controls have just showcased a "new" interior taking this idea further to the front passenger seat:

So I'd like seats that can do that in a Yeti too. Front and back.

You can add to the list fitting ESP to all models as standard although I believe this may be a legal requirement from 1st Jan 2012 anyway...

So im not the only one wanting a VRS Yeti then :D

1.8T DSG

2.0T DSG (old 2.0T would be fine)

2.5T DSG (from the TT-RS.......i wish!)

3.2 VR6 DSG

3.6 VR6 DSG

Or even a mental diesel with as somebody mentioned 200bhp and silly torque.

Why you ask???

Well i want to be able to make people go 'WTF??' while i fly past them on the highway at silly speeds!.

Edited by smellybumlove

Many have already been covered but......

DAB Radio Option

LED Drl's

LED Boot light, why bother with the current candle

Power Fold Mirrors as standard or as an independent option

Back Seats that fold up and are held mechanically rather than by a rubbish stretchy cord

A middle seat that folds completely vertically

Clock Display on Bolero

Extra 12V sockets on dash, not just by the hand brake

Night time driving switch, a la Saab

No cost option for 16" tyres instead of 17"

Option for All Season Tyres instead of standard summer ones

VRS Blue

This becomes a Maxi Yeti but an extra 10cm of depth on the boot. If they did that then I would order one today for delivery in 18 months which is when my current lease expires. Boot size is the only compromise on this car that may make me change.

Seriously fun thread.

DAB for sure

Bit bigger boot

Has anybody tried an aftermarket DAB unit ie Pure Highway - are they worth a punt?

Garth

I have the Pure Highway in my Octy - generally excellent reception with internal aerial and using the FM transmitter to connect to the car radio. Sounds better than the FM reception on the car radio!

Reception does depend on where you live and an external aerial will provide a better guarantee of uninterrupted listening. I keep the Highway in the glove box tuned to Radio 5 so it is out of sight and all I need do to switch on is plug in the 12V adaptor to the lighter socket and retune radio to pre-tuned pre-set. Simple.

I would prefer that Skoda included a DAB radio as an option - or OEM as on VW's - but until they do then the Pure Highway will do fine.

Incidentally I thought that motor manufacturers were obliged to fit DAB radios as standard from the 2012 model year?

I use the Pure Highway in my Roomster. The reception is very variable with the windscreen mounted aerial. If I could figure a neat way of getting the cable from an external aerial into the car I'd try one as I'm sure it would improve reception considerably. There are many parts of the country where DAB is non existant, Wales for example!

I wouldn't pay full price for a Highway, definately not worth it. I got mine refurbished at half price from Misco.

Fred

Has no-one mentioned placing the rear view mirror 3 inches higher up?? :giggle:

I wish to drive my Snow Monster, and drive, and drive emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Only two wishes:

1) 1.8T engine with DSG , and paddle shift on steering wheel. Than it would be nice.:)

2) Sport seats with all fabrics as option

(Maybe it would be nice to have Low range as option and 4x4 lock but in my opinion even without this option it is more capable that most of 4x4s) In my opinion, maybe you will agree, it is best combination of 2 worlds- sport + 4x4 vehicle right now on market--> and best of all for very affordable price.

Most of people do not buy this car because of this, but nevertheless it has this capabilities and as a driver I fill niiice :D especially when I see Clio Sport driver's face when I pass him in draft race :D

+1 re: 1.8TSi DSG w/ paddle shift

I just thought about one more: cupholders under the middle front air-vents like my A2 had. This is a perfect spot since in the summer the vent also keeps the drink cool (if the AC is on of course). But you can also fold them away out of sight. I find the Yeti's two cupholders under the armrest pretty awkward to get to with a drink when the armrest is down (or up to be honest). And to my eyes it looks like there is in fact plenty of space in the Yeti's dash under the vents.

Most of the above!

Plus... Jumbo box mounted about 6" further forward, so the middle rear seat folds up fully, & the jumbo armrest is then where it should be for front seat occupants.

Only one person has mentioned 30, 50 & 70 MPH on speedo. I was stopped by Mr Plod last week (just checking for stolen vehicles sir!) and the officer couldn't believe that the UK's most common speed limits are not marked. This should be a legal requirement... VAG/SKODA - WAKE UP!

Build your own Skoda thingy is back up on Skoda UK site.

I'd like (1) the availability, as in Ireland, of a Tdi 170PS 4x4 with DSG, (2) electrically folding wing mirrors, (3) choice of delivery tyres, ie summer, all terrain, 4 season, or winter, (4) badge deletion facility, (5) stronger underguard protection. and (6) return of the pano sunroof. Hopefully not too much to ask?

Mike

And finally (7) gas struts for the bonnet!

Mike

You sure about that?

You sure about that?

Oops - sorry about that - to be sure, to be sure! Wishful thinking on my part - a 170 with dsg!

I'd like to see the availability of DSG on the Greenline and a choice of interior colour for S models that extends beyond black... Maybe also slightly repositioned dials so that I can see them properly through the steering wheel.

I forgot to add an extra 12v socket at the back of the centre console/jumbo box so that rear passengers, ie kids, can plug in their dvd players, ipod charger, ds chargers etc. The current single 12v socket in front of the handbrake is inadequate and of no use to rear passengers.

BUT, but, you have one in the boot! Just plug something like this in there, thread it through the middle seat and voila they can each have a socket (assuming you have three sprongs!)

I've been using such a device for years in the front socket to power my sat-nav, phone and what not.

Good shout but unfortunately most of the time I need the gizmos for the rear passengers, ie my kids, is on long journeys when the boot is full. Trying to stick a charger into that socket, threading it through all the luggage, coats etc and then hoping that the gubbins in the boot does not knock it out is a bit iffy. My last car also had one at the back of the centre box and that was ideal. I have two kids and I already have a double socket jobby but I also need one for for my satnav and possible phone charger so one socket in the front is not enough.

Where there's a will there's a way. I'm confident you can plug it in somehow and route it to the kids in a way so it won't get dislodged! YOU pack the car in a way that it won't get dislodged and/or plug it in and stick the cord down with tape. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Johann - I wished we travelled a little lighter but the boot always seems to be jammed full when we go away. This thread is a wish list though so whilst you are quite right about finding a way if necessary I would find a rear seat 12v socket very useful.

Ah yes true! Hence me wishing for many a socket in the dashtop storage area as well!

1) Front seats from a Saab !

2) Slightly softer seats all round

3) Steering wheel adjustment that allows it to come out a little further

4) Steering wheel very slightly further to the right on RHD cars

5) Option of 16" wheels

6) Power outlet in rear
