Polo Offroad?

Featured Replies

Saw one of these the other day in town, black Polo with chrome roofbars and window surrounds, looked like 18" rims, higher suspension, bit like a mini-touareg or something, what are they, how much, any good? Looked nice, but probably overpriced and underequipped compared to Furby?...

Aren't they VW's attempt to compete with the Rover Streetwise.

"Urban on-roaders", I believe they're called...

Toppled by severe kerbs.be careful :D

and puddles... FWD... why?????

bit like the new fiat panda 4x4 i atcuallu quite like it come with 17" alloy wheels and all the whistle and bells

its just gimmiky

bit like the new fiat panda 4x4

The original Panda 4x4 was actually a pretty competent off-roader, and for a long time was favoured transport for Scottish farmers.

Not sure if the new one will be the same, but it is different from the "urban on-roaders"...

Panda 4x4 is at least... 4x4!

Streetwise \ polo Offroad are both FWD with ground clearance - I don't see the point?

All the disadvantages of a softroader without the advantages?

Like the alloys, and the seats look pretty cool, apart from that pretty much another megane scenic x4/ Streetrover-alike. Stick a bit of extra plastic trim on a normal model and apparently it can go pretty much anywhere...

Scenic RX4 is 4wd, so I'd give that the benefit of the doubt....

Still an exercise in pointlessness seeing as the only off-road action it sees is mounting the curb to get past traffic down a tight street on the school-run!!

The polo dune also comes with a very nice Becker made mp3 HU as standard. Agree though as a car it's pointless. Nice BBS wheels though.

If someone wants to have 4wd then that's their choice, it is useful for more than green laning ya know!

True, although I wouldn't be too keen on trying out the extra traction 4wd affords by caning a Scenic x4 around the country roads, might not be the most pleasant experience. Body ROLL...

I don't know any Scottish farmers with a Panda 4x4 and I've been on many scottish farms

Was what I was told by someone who used to live in the hills of Scotland back in the 80s...
