Okay spent a while getting to know my rear ;)

Can't belive what a difference 3mm makes. It's now set (Stuart!) a touch under RS height, but it's firmer. oh yes it's firmer. Can't rock the car when bouncing on the seat ( you know the wigle I refer to) Space between nut and base is that of the binding blade (shaft into handle fins) of the VAG supplied tool in your boot for putting the wheel caps on with.

The fronts remain as per install for height; which is also a touch under RS height. Rebound; well can't take rears off (no time) but feel okay at the moment. Fronts have a massive amount of adjustment, all two turns, was on zero now 50% and it feels miles better. So the whole adjusting thing is quite easy bar the rears which is a wheel off job each time :( But hey ho...

sounds good...

maybe we can swap for a mile or 2 on sunday and see how it compared with the std RS

Colin,

Sounds like something I should have gone for at the start - but what did I know?

Now I'm pretty hesitant spending another dollop of cash which this time would be coming out of my own pocket - while "de-investing" something the company bought only two months ago! I guess I'll be keeping to the stealth look for some time longer...

Colin, Keep the good news coming, I will probably call you somewhen towards the end of next week for a chat if thats OK, I want to get the rears right as I cant be bothered to keep on talking them off the car. IF OK can you PM me your tel number

It sounds like we have plumped for the right answer but 3MM lower than RS that must look kinda good so wheres the pictures !!

I know that feeling about putting things on only to find they don't meet my requirements :(

Can't wait to get mine and start playing with the settings I'll have available. :D

And we want pictures!!!!

Rob

Hi Colin

Looking good m8 any danger of a pic of the wheel and arch.

Looks good Colin

Colin! You're in danger of losing that distinctive 4X4 look!! eek.gif

LOL! He really wanted a RS, but due to their rarity he had to settle for a 4x4. Now he's trying to make a silk purse etc etc

:D

ouch!

it does look miles better (or lower;) )

Colin

Can you take the 4X4 right down to it's lowest setting on the KW's or do things start to get in the way?

Des

You need to reverse a couple of things, but yes, you can. Only trouble is that the tyres are actually in the arches at that point. Carbon fibre wing extensions anyone? :D

yes please... and a carbon splitter!

try these....

Hey, yhet'd look funky on mine. :D

Paul, if you want a carbon bonnet, I've heard of somewhere that does them for about

bonnet maybe... the engine cover is just decoration!

Well 280miles of good driving, A road settings are amazing.

Got some pics; will apply them very soon...However...

I've got a knock at points of torsion/weight shift. Not sure it's either exhaust, ARB snagging or wheel chocks bouncing around in the boot.

It wasn't there untill I took a good bend with a ridge on it, was bloody nice though.

Still it's in the garage tommorrow for front ARB bush maintenace under warranty as I registered the fault pre change and it's still squaking, although nowhere near as much.

All in all I'm very happy, some of the bumpy roads were a bit bumpy and I'm sure the stock settings would of felt "smoother" and therefore maybe better, but I really prefer the overall sit down and flatter feel, got some vid of bumpy ground from a bullet cam taped to the bump strip on my door...must remember to unplug that lot when exiting vehicle.

Righty ho, off to try and sort pics out.

what happened to you guys this morning... i was awfully lonely on that bridge.... was I on the wrong one?

Paul,

Had a chat with Ian, he said you were going to anglesey, I didn't have your number either; silly me.

I was a bit erm eeek last night as I couldn't raise either of you. I do apologise.

I passed over about 7:45, no sign, so assumed (again no number; have it now) that you were in cahoots with Ian and heading to anglesey.

We'll do it again, its a good 5 hour drive, well worthy.

Finally here are a few pics not all, but some...http://www.densem.co.uk/gallery/

Looks good Colin :D

Glad you had a nice drive out and that you have got the set up pretty much on the way to how you want it.

Did you do the final bit of the route? And was my homework up to scratch?
