Freshly back from the paintshop.

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Well I finally got the balls to do it yesterday and put the car into the paintshop to treat the wheels to a full powdercoat treatment. :D

The whole process from start to finish was as follows:

1. Wheels removed. Tyres removed from Wheels.

2. Blasted to strip down to bare metal.

3. Primer coated.

4. Powder coated.

5. Laquered.

6. Tyres refitted and balanced.

7. Placed back onto car.

This is the car freshly back from the workshop. Its pretty filthy by my standards so I intend to fully detail it over the weekend and get it gleaming again. I have only posted to give people a first impression.

I have to say I'm very very impressed with the overall finish and quality of the job.

I used the Wheel Specialist in Manchester. By no means the cheapest out there, but they are arguably one of the best and for the extra few quid will ensure they are done to a very high standard.

Before anyone asks. I aint dropping it. I'm done with mods. There are'nt any!

I'm not interested in being part of the lowrider posse. This is as far as it goes. Wheels done. I'm out. :p

I'll post some proper snaps when I've detailed the car properly. B)

I'll be at the next North West meeting if anyone wants to see how good a job has been done. Be good to put faces to names. :)

looks great suits the white perfectly

Nice!

Top job. That looks great.

Glad they did the business for you. And you got a decent deal I reckon; with the quote you got they weren't too much more than others who might have just done a mediocre job.

Hope to be at the next meet and see them in the flesh then

That looks shite :p

But then you know I'm only joking :giggle:

Excellent job, now what were you saying about no more mods............ B)

That looks fecking excellent................maybe the chrome grill surround should go to the paint shop aswell, and then you can call it a day on the mods.

Very nice! Needs dropped though :giggle:

Cheers guys. I aint dropping the thing. Its just fine for me.:thumbup:

You should have had them done in white

They look like they have done a fantastic job on the finish of those wheels. I just don't get the white/black wheel craze. Too many on the roads now.

However, if you like em then that is all that matters

It did cross mind... Briefly.

Then I realised I don't think it would have looked right.

Looks like a pukka job EddGee B) unfortunately I can't make the March meet but I'll be at the April one, will you be going to that?

When washing my car this afternoon I noticed that even though I clayed and sealed my wheels one day after getting the car they are already starting to look less than pristine so I'd be very interested in seeing them in real life.

In the absence of the Babster, I feel I've got to uphold tradition.....

Better get my priorities in order. :)

That's right. Go to the May one instead when the house with be filled with a screaming baby and filled nappies.

That looks fantastic - like mine but hatchy!

What is the colour?

.. and I promise not to make any comment about the low (d'oh!)

The colour is sparkling anthracite. It's the wheel specialists own colour. :)

Very nice - and keep away from Mods - the Octy really don't need mods at all as it's a little cracker as it is.

Rich

looks great Ed, theyve done a super job :) Good to get it turned around in a day too.

It was quite comical yesterday when I collected the car as the lad I dealt with told me that another lad with a SEAT Ibiza dropped his car off to be done and when he saw my car parked up all finished in the car park, he changed his mind at the last minute and went for the same colour. He was originally going for silver/chrome but fell in love with this colour. ;)

It's perfect. Very close to mine (sparkling graphite, according to BMW).

Some matt black mirror covers would set it off nicely.. Oops sorry no mods, right.

And lower, obviously. :p

Very nice - welcome to the dark side

do like this a lot, and had planned this for my FL when it arrives, although a little concerned everyones will have it!
