If it's that deep we'll just have to turn James's Skoda UK loan car upside down and use it as a raft ;) Either way I think it should go back to Milton Keynes with a good coating of mud, to show it's been used as intended...

Just stumbled across this, can't believe this was over 3 years ago now! I remember it clearly, fun day out. Hope you guys are good and the Yetis are behaving.

  • About time we had another go!

I always thought a safe guideline was to the top of the wheels (not tyres) although looking at it that would make a fairly deep water crossing!

That was before they put the air intake in the bilges!

How do I fit a snorkel to a Yeti?

See you there!

Thanks for an amazing day James. The Yeti is awesome off road (or on it as we were)

Fantastic day out. Thanks James. And for the first time I saw my Off Road button work and flash at me. Will post photos later.

Just got back home. Many thanks to James for organising the day and proving just how good the Yeti is offroad. Judging by the state of mine, there can't be much mud left in Surrey.

Andy

Terrific day! Thanks, James, for organising it - everybody had a lot of fun, plenty of laughs and one or two serious "kin-ell" moments! After traversing the muddy stretch (twice, thanks), I wonder if any damage has occurred underneath - there were one or two graunches, especially through the wettest bit. Perhaps I should have specified the RRP after all! But all seems well.

I'll get some video clips up on Tuesday, all being well.

Many thanks again to James - fab day!!!!!

BTW James, can we do the ford last, next time? Might not need to export too much Surrey mud that way!

I almost went that way back home, as I went back through Gomshall.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Thanks for coming! Was fun putting new faces to names I hadn't met before, and the Yeti Adventure was very fun.

That is a great video Mike!

Hopefully some more videos from that particular lane will turn up!

Looks like you had a good time

I have video's of pretty much the whole time, from both the front of Elsie and the rear, just finding some that are interesting and somewhere to hostemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

For those interested here is the GPS tracking of our trip (done via the Motion-X GPS app on my iPhone):

And here is a screen grab of it.

Alas due that rude, impatient (and seemingly deaf) car parking attendent at Bockett's Farm we set off in such a hurry that I did not start the track from the very start. But it gives you enough of a flavour of where we went.

And the pics. At Bockett's Farm:

Yikes! I guess all our cars look like that now!? How will you get in there to clean all that?!

Great Pictures, thank you. Several of my Yeti there. Just about to get the pressure washer out. Sadly the puncture I had has ruined the rim, so will need to get a new one.

Oh yeah! I forgot you had your cameras running the whole time. I'm sure there a few bits of footage that would be entertaining to see.

Great pics Johann!

Huge thanks from me too - especially to James for organising, planning and guiding, but also to the rest of you for making it a great morning. It was really good to meet you. I'm still grinning, even after contemplating hours of pressure washing :D

Here's my video:

(If any of you guys would like the raw footage to edit in with your own, pm me your address and I'll ship a DVD - Rockhopper and AndyC, this would mostly apply to you as I was between you.)

Nicely edited video of your trip.
