Well impressed with the footage from your camera! The editing is awesome too! Do you have a video of the Yeti going over the bump on the right hand side of the flinty track that happened just after 47 seconds in your video?

The wheel floating in mid-air is the most awesome bit I think!

Just stumbled across this, can't believe this was over 3 years ago now! I remember it clearly, fun day out. Hope you guys are good and the Yetis are behaving.

  • About time we had another go!

Hmmm!

Top stuff - looks like a super day out

Great video too!

Thanks Martin, that is one brilliant video. Sums up the day very well.

Do you mean this bit? Mike actually kept all four wheels on the ground over that big bump:

Land Rover types would call this 'excellent axle articulation' and probably be highly impressed that the Yeti could keep all its paws gripping the earth. I'm with you though - the wheel-in-the-air action looks very cool B) I did miss one good wheel-up bit later when the camera fell off the dashboard!

It amazed me that you really don't feel any loss of stability/traction when driving on three wheels. Driving home afterwards at motorways speeds in smooth, quiet comfort I was really quite moved by what a fantastic piece of engineering design the Yeti is, to have such breadth and depth of ability. Fantastic car.

Thanks for the kind comments on the video!

Just wanted to add my thanks to James and all involved in a great day out in the Surrey Hills! Brilliant footage and pics too.

BTW, talk about breadth of performance!! During the nearly 4 hrs off road Hetti averaged 43.5 mpg. On my 6 hr slog back to Scarborough (M25, M11, A1(M), M18 etc) she averaged 48.6 mpg!!! What a gall !!!:D

Looking forward to Lincolnshire now!!

Actually I'd put it down more to driver skill.

Choosing a path that keeps the wheels on the ground doesn't show off the car as well, or give such interesting footage, but it's the best way to maintain better traction.

It shows better ground reading.

Quite so - they don't call him Rockhopper for nothing

Thank you for sharing the photo's and video, looks like you all had a great day.

Some great pics there, and a great video!

Looks like you guys had a fantastic time...

If there was a LWB Yeti the Scout might be for sale :o

Would you mind emailing me any photos you have of the Yeti I was driving with 'Allams.com' down the side of it please?

Would be useful for our website I think.

There must be some more video to come?

Great pics Johann!

Huge thanks from me too - especially to James for organising, planning and guiding, but also to the rest of you for making it a great morning. It was really good to meet you. I'm still grinning, even after contemplating hours of pressure washing :D

(If any of you guys would like the raw footage to edit in with your own, pm me your address and I'll ship a DVD - Rockhopper and AndyC, this would mostly apply to you as I was between you.)

Some excellent pics and a very nice piece of video editing! Looks like you guys had a ball.

Isn't it just! I've shown all the videos of the hole to other people - they have fallen about laughing! I don't know why its so funny, but it is, isn't it?!

And here's the early casualty....

If anyone thinks a spray can of gunk will get them out of this, think again!!!!!!!!!

Felt sorry for you at the time - still do! Public road (motorist funded too): let's not go there, eh?

But it wasn't a pothole, just a dodgy load that spilled?

Did you notice some of the Surrey roads had potholes worse than the off-road bits we did?

Yep, thats my wheel and tyre, both scrap. Best advert for a spare I can think of! James is very kindly sorting me a new alloy.

Yes some of the roads around here are dire, but just as bad as some around London ........

Couple of nice pictures of the gooier bit - pretty area, eh?
