Nope the drive is planned to leave the Penrith area at 7.30am, so we can get through the lakes bit of the route before the 'tourists' get out of bed.

Neo_VR pointed me in the direction of this thread. Little Katie and I are at at wedding in Preston on Saturday, but hangover permitting, it would be good to carry on up the M6 and catch up with you all at lunchtime on Sunday.

I won't order lunch just in case it doesn't happen, but fingers crossed we'll make it.

Lunch will be at Eden Golf Club near Carlisle.

For those on the drive I've sorted you all out a choice of 2 mains and 2 desserts.

Mains are steak pie with veg, fish and chips or a vegetarian dish.

Desserts are sticky toffee pudding or Eden mess.

So everyone can choose now and let me know by pm what they would like between those. It's £8.50 for the two courses.

It might be worth keeping a record of what people order in a spreasheet for people to check on the day as a few work christmas meals have had a group of people going eh I didn't order that or I can't remember what I ordered.

Just read the thread at 5am (don't ask). I've been a member for a while (albeit rather silent) and recently changed my MK1 fabia VRs for a MK2 estate VRs. Would have loved to come as I live in Lancaster and regularly blat around the lakes. Sadly, I'm in Cornwall driving the family van (grand picasso)

Not sure if there is one in Keswick, sharkrider can confirm, but there is one in Penrith. This will be the quickest way to Keswick, presuming your coming on the M6. Hopefully this works.

What sort of time are people starting to arrive on Friday for camping?

I'll be at the camp site around 7pm

I think Sharkrider is trying to get there a little earlier, but would have to check with him.

I will be there about lunch to welcome everyone in, you have to go through the farm gates on the left (assuming you come from honister!) opposite the carpark, campsite is then through the yard on the left ! look for minty.

nearest v-power is the one in penrith J40 M6 (that ian mentioned) there is a BP just as you entere keswick, with 97 ultimate on every pump (and a shop if you have forgotten anything, remember NO shop here, its a farm!) I tend to run mine permenently on BP ultimate, as rarely get to penrith.

Thanks it would be nice to fill up before going to the camp site, as its around 200miles up there.

I was thinking about leaving Telford around 10am, so will get up there between 1 and 2pm.
