i'm booked in on tues and my local dealer reckons it will take an hour and a half :S if they just give me the coils i could do it in under 15 mins i'm sure

I specifically asked them if they flash the ECU before mine were done and they told me that that wasnt part of the recall/campaign. So no problems with remaps

all done today perfect in and out in half hour

I'll be phoning my local dealer (rainworth Skoda) tomorrow to see if my sheds eligible :giggle:

No mate, phoned up today and it's eligible, just got to find out what shifts our lass is on so she can take it and drop it off with them.

Turbo's gradually getting worse lol, spoke to cr the other day who've got a standard turbo in stock to exchange if I decide to repair it now it's been scratched and had the bumper grill nicked!

saw this thread on Friday got my packs replaced on Saturday by lookers skoda stockport not bad considering the car is 8 years old great service too

Another one! result.

Extremely grateful to Progress Skoda Northampton for their helpful service.

All four coil-packs replaced while I waited.

Sure car pulls better?

Mines going in on the 13th so I'll report bk

mine have now been done with revision D coils, shame they made an arse of washing it, hey ho

Just spoken to the dealer at Woolpit and they are going to call me back to arrange for the coil packs to be sorted.

How do you know whether your packs are covered? My car is a 2004 VRS, would it still be covered for a recall after this long?

Go to the dealer and ask. My 2004 vRS had all four changed - and I bought it in Leeds and had them changed in NZ so it even works in a different country :)

also check your coils to make sure they are branded VWAG at the connector point - only VAG ones are covered (but not revision R or D) - you can buy second hand L revision ones on ebay for around £10 a go - cheap way of getting brand new D revision coils :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Thanks, just having a problem pin pointing what and where the coil packs are on my VRS (The Haynes manual hasn't been much help either)

Bubba, there are 4 clips in the "20V TURBO" cover to unscrew (Quarter turn). Remove the cover, and you will see 4 coils sitting there smiling at you.

And yes, your car is covered, regardless of how old it is.

Phoned Rainworth Skoda dealer today. Im booked in for friday, they even said they'll drop me off at home and pick me back up LOL!!

phoned local dealer today for my 2001 vrs after reading this thread, they have confirmed that mine is oustanding so booked in next week.

Hi,

The Octavia has developed a misfire over the last couple of days with the CEL flashing on. A scan reveals misfire on cyl1 so I suspect a coil pack. Spoke to Jewsons in Oxford to order a couple and was told about the recall. Parts arrive tomorrow and they even get fitted for me!

should be fine then - 4 shiny new revision D's should be swapped in
