Another crashed Furby vRS... (mine)

Featured Replies

Yup, you read it right :(

This week I have travelled 1000 miles plus in the company van, to all parts of the country and have had no problems at all... So its sod's law when on a friday night I hop into my car for my small 12 mile journey home and I am involved in an accident...

Travelling down a single carriage way when I notice a Motorbike right up my a*se, poking in and out trying to overtake me but couldnt due to on comming traffic. We approach a rounderbout and a car is going round so I brake normally (not harsh) and SMACK!!

The Motorbike obviously right up my a*se didnt like the fact that I had stopped for this car and tried to go round me and cut infront of the car on the rounderbout, but he didnt serve out enough and clipped my car which deflected him into a sign on the rounderbout at some speed. He hit it so fast that he bounced back from the sign and ending up in the middle of the road near unconcious (spelling?) and narrowlied (spelling, again?) missed being hit by the car he pulled out infront of.

My first reaction was to see if he was alright then to call an ambulance, fortunatly there was a nurse in a car nearby who was promptly on the scene and seeing if he was alright...

...But if I am honest, i felt no pity for him whatsoever, he was driving like a complete tw@ and brought it on himself and hit my car in the process.

An abulance arrived and took him away and after a long wait traffic Police turned up. Being a young driver of a powerfull car I was expecting them to be fairly stern with me but they were really helpfull and reassured me that it was entirely his fault and I had nothing to worry about, so cheers fellah's

Looking back the accident could of been a lot worse and could of caused a fatality to, so I am greatfull that all was alright. The car isnt too bad, but it still makes you sad when you've spent near 12K of your hard earned cash and it happens. But hey its only a piece of metal as everyone keeps telling me :)

Anyway heres a piccy of the car and thanks for listening :)

One word my friend....t@sser :finger: (NOT you, Evil Kneival)

Almost looks like the impact of the bike (or biker?) has wiped clean a bit of your rear bumper.

Tough luck but it looks easy to repair, and is obviously not gonna affect you too much... Still, it must be bad to be involved in the accident itself. :(

Must have shaken you up a bit - glad you're ok :grouphug:

Glad everyone was ok - accidents suck, whether your fault or not, it kinda makes you feel uneasy :(

On my normal commute there are a few motor cyclists, which cut through the traffic jams. However I've not seen a single one take crazy risks or tailgating. Admittedly there are accidents on the M4 or A34 regularly anyway, but based on the state of the slow lane on the A34 it's not really that surprising :(

Tailgating on a motorcycle is crazy anyway - it just hasn't got the grip to slow down that quickly.

Hope your Furby is repaired soon on the other party's insurance, and that he recovers quickly :)

Bad news mate, glad your OK.

Drop us a bell if I can help in anyway (we have a bodyshop).

Cheers for the reply's guys (and gal's :D)

Police just rang me to give me a reference etc and to say that he has admitted liability, although he went on to say even if he hadn't it wouldnt of mattered.

Just need to look for a garage i can trust now to repair it, and wait for some **** 1.2 Corsa or Micra :(

All our bodyshop loan cars are 1.2 HTP Fabia's ;)

Sounds nasty, glad everyone got out ok. Damage doesn't look too bad on the car thankfully.

The thing to bear in mind is that you are ALWAYS better off having some loony in front of you rather than behind you. If in front, you have more chance of getting away if the incident is heading towards road rage.

You spotted that he was driving a little close which was good observation. Although not your fault, you now have added hassle.

If it had been me, I'd have slowed a bit, pulled over and let him passed. Better off he is going to place someone else in danger rather than you.

Glad to hear that you are OK.

Pleased you are OK, and the Furby will fix like brand new! If you ride like a dork, you end up being a statistic, and that biker has just added 1 to the count.

Know how you feel mate. Having some pillock prang your pride and joy is bloody annoying. At least you're OK.

....and to say that he has admitted liability....
Good news for you, but his insurers are going to be very unhappy about that admission! I hope your car is sorted soon.

Oh well...at least YOU'RE fine...the car will be repaired and it will look great (sometimes they look newer and they smell new too after coming out of the garage)...

I know exactly how you feel, In the two years I've owned my car (though I've been in Cyprus 8 months serving the National Guard), I crashed my car 3 times, once my fault...the worst one cost about Dhs15,000 (about 3000 UK pounds)...that included replacing the two fenders in the front, the bonnet, the bumper spoiler, the fender kits, the four grills, and the two head lamps...yeah...all that and the car was less than six months old...in any case, they were all replaced (not repaired), so I was a happy boy:) You shall hopefully be the same too

Glad you're O.K. That looked a bit nasty. Just make sure you reverse back over him next time, it'll save him making a claim for his injuries

glad your ok mate!

That'll polish out with a bit of T-cut

Seriously, though, glad you're OK. It's a real pain when your car is damaged through no fault of your own. I hope you get it sorted without any hassle.

I hate PowerRangers, they ride around like they own the place (the majority anyway) and are suprised when they get knocked off!

:auto::moped:

Glad you're alright, and the biker too.

Now that I've had my major RTA in the furby, it makes me even more cautious on the bike. I'd never tailgate a car on a windy road I didn't know and slow down well before you get anywhere near a roundabout, so I don't feel much sympathy for him either.

As you say, metal can be replaced. I wonder what they'll do about the rear quarter though. I guess repare 'cos otherwise it's a massive panel to replace...

I can only understand the annoyance when it's not your fault. But you feel totally gutted (and suicidal) when it is and you write your pride and joy off :( ;)

Hope it all gets sorted soon. Good luck. Hope his insurance is not as slow as mine
