Connecting a PSP 1000 to the Internet

Featured Replies

After finding my PSP at the back of the drawer I thought I'd give it a go again. Went to connect it to my network and it can't connect. It sees the connection and all the options go through OK (I don't have security, and I leave everything on Auto) but when it comes to testing the connection it comes back with:

"A connection error as occurred. A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the security settings of the network and try again"

I currently have a Linksys WRT54G router which has been flawless. It happily lets me connect two laptops, my HTC Desire and the TV all wirelessly. I used to have a Belkin router which kept crashing but would let the PSP connect to the Internet. This makes me think it's something on the router that needs changing. Any ideas?

You may have got the max number of connections set too low?

You could try a firmware update

I sorted it in the end. For some reason just by entering the SSID manually it worked but yet if I left it to find it by itself (which it did) it wouldn't let me connect. Very strange.
