Speaking of Door Strips / Protection Mouldings - has anyone purchased a set or considered purchasing a set? I abhore door dings and the dingers responsible (Just because they drive a ****ty K reg Sierra and are hard done by in life so take it out on others').

If so pics please.

My understanding is the side protection strips cannot be factory fitted on the VRS. I know this from when I ordered my car and the dealer couldnt put the order through on the system. Later found out it was because of these side protection strips so the dealer put the order through without them and agreed to retro fit them for me when the car was delivered to them. He didnt charge for them either so cant tell you how much they cost.

I know some people dont like them but I think it will go well with the Red and Black roof I have ordered. Will post some pics up when I get the car however it looks like it will be a long wait judging by what I have read on other threads.

Talking of annoying parking - I always try and park a good distance from other people if at all possible, so the other day taking my mother in law to a hospital visit I parked in an unoccupied row at least 4 rows away from any other vehicle. When I came back, guess what; someone had parked right next to me, making mine and their own access difficult when there were probably 200 alternative spaces to choose from. Why do people do this??

Looking at the picture on page 5 I think the strips would go well with any colour. My only concerns are that they seem to be too low down considering the doors are at their outmost higher up and most at risk from dinkage here. Also, a lot of 5 door cars (like this one for example!) have doors which curve at the bottom due to the wheel arches; and thus only the top half of the door slams into yours :S

On other forums the Fabia is not noted for having the best illuminating headlamps.

Surely the black surround won't help that issue either?

As they're projection bulbs it won't matter as they're not being reflected from inside the black part of unit. Not 100% on the full beam though!

if anyone wants to get rid of their black grill and headlamps for a standard set of headlamps and chrome grill maybe with some cash you way, feel free to let me know

Second that, although you can keep the lights but the grill is a definate. Fare exchange is no robbery.

Janner sy - if my car comes with black grill/lights I may give you a shout

i wouldnt mind have my chrome parts swapped for black either (when my car arrives), saw a monte at the dealer on sunday, im sure it was blue, same as the vRS im waiting for (may just be wishful thinking confusing my memory), and the headlights and grill look so much better!!.. also, the monte black alloys are totally black, where the vrs black ones have a silver edge to them (which i will be hiding with AlloyGators!) tho the shapes of them are slightly different too.

black roof, black alloys, but chrome grill and headlights... would look way better with the extra black parts on the car =D

any photoshop masters able to make an all black furbie? I hope they bring an OEM xenon kit option. Doubtful but it would be good. Might make the less than perfect lights better..

heres my attempt... weird thing is, i couldnt do it black, didnt look glossy at all, just looked like matte black.. so i tried blue.. and managed to get it like black =D.. you may notice odd blue bits round the edges tho ..

Very nice try. You should have done the estate - there would have been room for the coffin.

All black is too dark and you can't really appreciate the car. Needs some chrome to break it up a bit.

Nice job. A bit bat mobile looking

:D

ive wanted an all black car for years, since need for speed underground was out i think

as i didnt know about the black pack, i ordered a blue car instead as i thought it would look a bit daft, all black, with chrome bits at the front =/.. i now still want the black pack on my blue 1, ill ask my dealer about getting it fitted later on next time i pop in to hand over some pennies to the deposit =/
