vRS and black pack

Featured Replies

Cheers AshP, will call into my dealers tomorrow and ask... I will also keep you updated with the progress of my car

I ordered mine from Lightcliffe Skoda in Warrington and they said 12 weeks is likely

Mines from Sherlodge Skoda in Rainham, Medway, 17 to 20 weeks, funny how the times can be so different!

I get the impression from my dealer that the VAT free deal only applies to 2011 model year cars and that Skoda are trying to push all the VAT free cars through as 2011 builds. I therefore find it unlikely that anyone who is benfiting from the current VAT deal will get a 2012 MY car and in that case will not get the black pack.

That is EXACTLY what my local dealer explained to me! (Darlingtons of Harlow) :wonder:

I see what you mean but if I'm due my car in Week 24 then in theory it should have the Black Pack if all cars built after Week 22 have it?

Maybe but I bet your car will end up being built week 20 - 22, build weeks tend to move forward from my own experience. Guess you'll just have to see what happens.

well i still anit got a build date, tho havent spoken to the dealer in a fortnight, maybe mine will get the black pack if after week 22, after all i ordered on the 7th and was told 10 weeks, and i think it would look class on my black one with its black wheels and decepition badges.

I love the black grill....but it'd look SO much better with the dark black/grey badge that they use on the engine cover...a simple mod! ;)

The plot thickens... received a call from my dealer today and according to their ordering system from build week 13 (that's this week) all Fabia vRS models will come with black grille and headlights. :o

Been looking at the pics some more and personally I'm not sure how well the black headlights will work on the white.

Had another play in photoshop...

I think I may just go for the black grill for now.

Hi there any chance you could photoshop the black pack onto a race blue fabia? I've not seen it done yet

my dealer told me they were shoehorning a 3.2V6 into the engne bay from april onwards.......

i love a good rumour

No you are wrong it's a 4.2 hybrid engine! Running on chip fat and cherry cola

Good news for you then sir, the Skoda badge on the cars is changing to this, I think on all cars from MY2012 onwards:

Not sure if that was aimed at my post but just to clarify, I sent my dealer an email asking if they could amend my order to include a note on the system that I would like the black grill. The news I was given over the phone seemed a little odd to me as based on this forum this amendment doesn't seem to be common knowledge and I'd imagine a number of future vRS owners would be annoyed when their car turns up with the black pack.

I ordered my vRS today and inquired about the black pack but the dealer had no idea when it would be available although he was aware of it.

I cannot imagine it being fitted as standard without informing the buyer of the change from the model they have ordered. Maybe by the time I get an update on the build week for my motor there will be some more info available.

Too true. Would prefer my dealer to say they don't know than tell me porkie pies.

Here's another little merged image, red this time.

Was told the colour is one of the last aspects that can be altered, my deposit's down and I know the rest of the spec, just still can't quite decide on body, roof and wheels. Knowing choice around this "black pack" would be good as that does impact on my decision.

Can anyone confirm whether this is true? I personally wouldnt mind if my car arrived with the black pack but would be good to know for certain.

Have sent the following this morning via the Contact Us form on skoda.co.uk

Dear Sirs,

There is a lot of rumour and conflicting information being quoted on the internet forums about the availability of the "darkened chrome grill" and the "smoked glass headlights" (on the Monte Carlo) as an option for the Fabia vRS.

Rumour suggest they are "a no-cost option" available on cars built from build week 22 or that the "black pack" will become standard on the Fabia vRS from build week 13.

Some recent ordering customers have been advised a note can be added to the VAG ordering system requesting they'd like the "black pack".

Having personally placed an order at the weekend I'd be grateful of any confirmation you could make around this topic and hoepfully put the rumours on the forums to rest.

Thanks in advance of your kind response.

Hopefully Skoda will now spark, I asked them the very same question yesterday (no reply yet).

I didn't include a contact phone number as I'd like the response in writing. Tried the same approach with my dealer but received the "all vRS from build week 13" response via a phone call. :(

Mmmm NICE! :)

Received a call from Skoda UK. (Thanks again for investigating)

As from (after?) week 13 the vRS will come with IRC Winner sticker/badge.

From week 22 the vRS will have the dark chrome grill and darkended headlights (as seen on the Monte Carlo) as standard. At this time it's unconfirmed how this may affect the price of the car. Customers recently placing orders are advised to check with their retailer.

Hope I haven't misquoted anything. :drunk:

Here's a couple more amended pics...

What is the IRC Winning sticker/badge?

Hi all, well after hearing about this black pack, i was on the phone straight away but was told this was only for the montcarlo cars and not for the vrs, this i might add took a while for them to find out, so all i can say dont hold your breath. this was the portsmouth dealer, so mabe its different all round the country.
