Hi Dempsek

well I dont know why they were taken off my order their confirmation showed them & it was some days later that they contacted me to say no longer available & this was just after the Japanese sunamai

for whatever reason they were canceled - the dealer is now telling me (after I asked )I can now add them back onto to my order (ETA was Sept at time of ordering)-

having never had them & it is not a huge car - do I really need them ? that is the question ?

how do others find their parking sensors ?

Saved me a new bumper in a certain clown's eating place. Just remember they are not totally fool proof, a friend of mine has some on his Saab and yep he managed to put a nice crease in his bumper.

Been to look at my new Greenline today, should get it tomorrow. (I'm CPsmithy's Missus). The Parking sensors are still not on it and won't be on it in time for collection tomorrow. I'll have to take it back to the dealer once they get the sensors in to have them put on. Not very happy about this as it's back and forth.

Also lots of last minute stuff to get it organised. I popped into the dealership to sign off the paperwork on my way back to work I got a phoncall from them about the insurance. Hadn't even mentioned it to me so that car isn't even taxed yet. Thankfully a quick call has got it all sorted but surely they could have given me the details to do this on Monday when they said the car was ready for collection Friday?

Do you think I can ask for some mats as compensation for the messing about, especially since they have had the money for the parking sensors since March when I ordered the car?

I certainly would explain how the last minuteness had caused you problems and ask for mats. My dealer offered me 7 days free insurance and got the car registered, your experience reminds me of Reg Vardy with my old Citroen.

Well Cookiene has picked up her new Greenline. The garage had even managed to get the rear sensors fitted in time  and the car is lovely.

Obviously got to get used to a few things but on first experience a nice little car to drive (I say little it is bigger than I remember inside). Stop Start worked straight away.

Only slighlty strange thing was a message say "Check Deadbolts" when the engine was turned off and she's contacting the garage about how to get the auto locking working.

No doubt she'll be on here smiling later.

Great to hear you've picked it up. Let us know how you get on! Enjoy!

The auto lock has to be set by the dealers using VAGcom don't forget to ask them to setup auto unlock as well.

One plip of the remote locks and deadlocks the car, two plips locks and deactivates the deadlocks.

Cruise control now sorted.

Took it back to the dealers this morning and they'd deactivated a couple of things in order to fix my earlier problems, but forgot to reactivate them all. At least it wasn't a serious problem! Touch wood everything is working as intended now!

How are the new GL2 owners getting on?

Glad to hear your problem is now solved.

Mines going in for it's 10,000 service on Wednesday (it'll be on 11,000 by the time it goes in), been quoted £110 inc VAT, it's only oil and filters required.

2 minor niggles, I've been getting an intermittent flashing glowplug light for the last 5000 miles and on Saturday the Engine management light came on as well as the glowplug light and lasted for approx 200 miles, both are off at the moment. The engine is running fine though. Hopefully the dealer will pick up the fault codes.

Apart from that the car is great, I travel at 'normal' motorway speeds (80mph) most of the time and average 55-60mpg, the boot space is fantastic, carries 4 people with rear passengers having tons of legroom (as reported by a couple of six footers).

I am wondering about front seat comfort, there is no lumbar support and with the amount of driving I'm doing I've resorted to using a towel in my lumbar region, also, under thigh support could be better, does anyone know of any solutions to increasing comfort (including changing seats)?

I was wondering about seats as well... My 2001 Fabia had ordinary seats which were "ok" but the second had "sports" seats which seemed much better (Bohemia model), certainly better than the standard ones I have in the Roomster, which I expect are the same as yours... There doesn't seem any option to change seats... Perhaps those of you with a vRS and ordinary model in the same household could comment on the difference?

Well I picked the new car up last Friday and I am slowly getting used to it as it's very different from my old car.

I'm loving driving it and have been seeing the MPG (per the computer in the car so take with a pinch of salt) improving. I have just had to fill up so I'll see what the overall MPG on the tank is in about a month's time :smirk:

I took it back to the dealers today and they have adjusted it so that it auto locks (and unlocks).

Looking to get an MDI cable now, recs or where to go appreciated as it looks like the Ebayer previously mentioned on this site hasn't got any.

I got mine from eBay for £6
