Hi - I feel that from the order on 20th Oct 2010 and still not having a build week is WRONG. It can't be just because you are in Norway - the factory is making cars for many countries. Have yuo been given a "SLI" number? In the UK, we can call Skoda UK with the SLI number and see it the build week agrees with what we are being told by the seller.

You may see that my car (order 21 Feb 2011) was week 20, went to week 38 but has come back to weeks 22. That's why I think there is something seriously wrong with your order!

No.. the SLI-number is only for uk customers I think.. the skoda-dealer I ordered the car from havent heard about any sli-number before.

All I got is Ordernr, Repr nr / PC-ordernr, Reg.nr (best.nr)/IFA.Nr.

hmmm so not exactly barebones then. Mines geen w/black roof. Hopefully this is a sign that Slowda are stepping things up.

Spoke to the dealer today. Still no build week yet. Apparently the hold up is due to having ordered the Amundsen head unit which is being updated. Skoda UK have told the dealer that I should expect it to be another couple of weeks before I get a confirmed date.

He did mention that it will probably be a 2012 model year car I will get now so hopefully that will mean Amundsen+ and the black pack.

I'm just going with what I was told. Was told car should be coming 16th May, which I worked to be Build week 20. Might have done my maths wrong ?

You have Build week and delivery confused. Its either being built week 20 or delivered week 20

If its built week 20, you won't get it til week 22/23.

If its delivered week 20, it would have been built week 16 ish - ie now!

So we're at week 16 then, Ad Lav? I'll have to ask my folks! It was them that intercepted the call! I'm sure they said, delivered week 16 because he was expecting my one and another guys vrs to arrive on the same day!

Went for Dark Chromes and electric rear windows, cubby boxes etc, that's all we really needed. No need for silly things like Cruise, Sat Nav, Heated Seats or Climatronic. Very well spec'd car anyway

Yeah I agree although Cruise is a big thing for me cos I live about 24 miles of very easy road away from town, so driving home late at night at weekends and stuff made easier by the click of a button sounds great! Heated seats were just something i've wanted in a car for ages, No idea why? Just had an urge! haha! I agree with the climatronic though. Folks had in there Octy Vrs and didn't really see the point? it was always just set on auto?

I've got one on order as well. Agreed deal on a Fabia vRS Estate on the 23rd, however the order won't be put onto the system until today due to the Bank Holiday.

Dealer showed me the official times, and am looking at a 14 week wait.

I've done an 8 week wait before when I bought another new car (long story) so I'm used to waiting for good things.

Done a lot of research over the weekend (Yes, I've ordered before really taking a good look, though I did look at the boot of an estate vs hatch (originally I wanted a hatch, but for the extra money and the bags more practicality went for the estate) however I am convinced that I am going to be ordering a top notch motor, due to the number of highly positive reviews the car has had, any due to my own experience with the Skoda brand. This will be my 4th Skoda, and 2nd vRS.

Not interested in any other extra, car (like the Octavia vRS I had) is very well specc'ed indeed. All this for a few quid short of £15K. Can't fault it!

My current car I only bought 6 weeks ago, after downsizing from the Octavia in order to pay off a loan. However, in my haste, I bought a SEAT Ibiza FR TDI, and even though I owned one years ago, I thought it'd be ok to have again. I've grown to dislike it very quickly, the road noise is appalling and the suspension is absolutely rock hard. My wife doesn't like it either. lol.

So, obviously times and feelings change, and while, yes, I have lost some money on having a car for 6 weeks, I suppose I could have gone down the private route and faffed about - however, having ordered a new car and having the whole unpredictable timing to worry about - I decided to call it quits and trade it.

I don't see the point in living with something that I hated - At the end of the day it is a car, a lot of money, and I think it is only right that one should be happy with it. I, sadly, am not one of those people who view a car as simply an A-B utility, I love cars.

Like two peas in a pod gorebrush. I too have ordered a rallye green estate after much unning and ahhing. I too (nearly) came via a FR TDI Ibiza, which I disliked for the cheapo interior as much as anything. And I too love cars.

I don't think there are many rallye green estates, it'll be an exclusive club. What wheels have you gone for?

While I liked the anthracite, I still maintain silver is the best colour.

Ordered mine 4 weeks ago and just popped into the dealer today to see how its going and there still saying only another 6 weeks. seems very quick going by others on here so im not building my hopes up, just quietly optimistic

btw they had the exact same car, minus the few extras that i NEED lol and it looks smart, very smart indeed. i did deliberate long and hard over the colour. previously id only seen red or green in the flesh but i opted for white with black wheels and here was one in the very flesh. even had the grey fleck on the seats as i almost went for the red, and its very smart im really REALLY looking forward to it now ive actually seen one
