Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

Retiredbri - I think it's been mentioned a few times that 1.2 & DSG combinations are hard to fulfill as well...

It was me who had the original converstion (30 March) with Skoda UK where the TSI & DSG were mentioned as being long delivery. This thread is tracking build weeks and deliveries so I edited my original entry and added the one above to keep others informed. I included the TSI & DSG (and no SatNav) so that others could see if they have similar models and are experiencing similar "moving to the right" problems.

On the basis that vRS cars are being delivered with DSG (and unless the DSG for the vRS is different than for the 1.2TSI engine) then maybe the DSG is not the holding item.

My reply was useful to others because it added the "confirmed build week" discussions.

My apologies

The DSG 7 in the vRS is slightly different isn't it? Someone technically minded will be along to tell us :D

I thought it was same 'box in 1.2 and 1.4 based cars.

Got fed up waiting for my Dealer to get back. Called skoda myself. Confirmed that my car is going to be built next week and should arrive within a couple of weeks after that. Anyone want to buy a corsa? hahaha!

Just rang Rainworth motors for an update.....week19 :wonder: which would be 8 weeks from order, 12 weeks or so in total, which would be great :p

Got the sli number so I can track thru trackmyskoda website and that's the preliminary build subject to confirmation. I will try not to get too excited just yet :D

*update*

been checking on trackmyskoda and all it as been saying is unconfirmed build week 201119..this week is week 19

just checked again and it now says being transported from Factory to Germany port - not sure how accurate this is, but it says it is based on the live system.

called dealer earlier today build week 33

delivery middle end of august

said best be a 61 plate then

thats a 8 mnth + wait !!!!!!! :doh::thumbup:

it says

TrackmySkoda.co.uk allows you to enter your unique SLi Number provided by your dealer into the box on the right.

No - it's only for customers with orders from bickertonskoda and rainworthskoda.

a lot of members can be quoted to have used it so although it does say for their customers, has anyone else tried it with an sli number from another dealer? would be handy if it worked and failing that is there another method of tracking for people buying from other dealers??

not having an sli number i cant use it :'(

Think I have the sli number at home ill give it a try later

Just been looking At a thread titled news on ordered vrs and it seem like the prodution date for year 12 cars may have been move forward to week 19. It says all vrs will now be produced with the black pack ?

My order is 4 weeks old and when I put my order number in which is only 8 numbers long (no letters - is this the right format!?) it says 'No order found' but says it can take up to 6 weeks to show ... Meh would just be lovely to have a solid date, but doesnt look like i'll be getting one for the forseeable!

Sounds like your order number is right, mine is 8 numbers too, but I do think the trackmyskoda website if fir Bickerton and Rainworth orders only - at least so it says on the site

As I posted earlier it never gave me a confirmed build week, it just jumped from "unconfimed" to "shipping to Germany port" and I checked it everyday....I ain't too sure how accurate it is though, going to ring the dealers tomorrow just to double check ;)

If it's correct though that means my order would have taken about 12 weeks from order to delivery....so maybe some light at the end of the tunnel (even if it is just my DRL's)

Think I have the sli number at home ill give it a try later

I tried and here's what I got:

There is one person or a team of people who work somewhere in Skoda who allocate what is going to run down each production line at any one time, this can be the only way the production line knows what parts it must have available on any given day.

As it appears no one at Skoda UK is in touch with any member of this team I suggest the Americans send in a crack commando squad to flush them out and reveal their contact details so the World can be free from the tyranny being wrought to VAG customers Worldwide :giggle:

To be slightly serious someone, somewhere within Skoda is allocating vehicles to the production lines and they must have a set of rules they work to. How difficult would it be for a person in customer services to pick up the phone and talk to them?

Edited by hertsnminds

last update i had said delivery should be on the 12th (thursday) and available for me to pick up on 15th, sunday..

phoned local skoda today, the vRS is in the UK, just waiting for transport, but i may have to wait 10 days just for transport to be sorted out..

my pops told me today when he got his superb company car 3 or 4 years ago, him and another colleague had the exact specs ordered in december, but his was ordered 3 days after the other fella.. both were told they should have their cars in june.. both cars were delayed because skoda UK hadnt paid the main skoda company for previous cars, skoda uk promised to pay once a few more cars were released.. the other guy got his car in a small batch in september but because skoda uk still hadnt paid the main company, my dad waited till the end of october..

the only reason they had to wait was because skoda UK wasnt paying the main company for the cars, i wonder if something similar is happening here? (during the call i was told a white car with black roof and NO extras was ordered in december, has been delayed till october)

Ordered my white VRS on 2nd February with an anticipated delivery of between 12-16 weeks.Rang dealer up on the 21st April for a build week after reading all the horror stories on this forum. Was told by the dealer then that my car was built and awaiting shipment from Germany to the UK. Just had a call from the dealer today, my car has arrived and will be ready for collection on Sunday. Went down to the dealers to check it out,he had just recieved a big consignment of cars so it looks like a few more VRS's will be hitting the road soon. Cant'wait til Sunday. :D

I was told yesterday that my dealer is expecting 12 cars, but they are unsure if mine is one of them. It seems that once a car hits the uk, they cannot tell when its picked up from the port. I was just told to wait to hear!

like emsco i ordered on the 2nd feb white vrs (armrest & dark chrome alloys). still no where near to a confirmed built date looking like a my2012 car, sent this email to skoda.info.cz last week

Dear sir/madam,

I am writing this e-mail in relation to ordering a new fabia vrs (sli order no 210***92) on 2/2/2011. Since ordering this vehicle I have received four different build weeks ranging from week 15 to 21 and now currently week 24 I feel it is necessary to make you aware of how I feel about waiting such a long time to receive my car in which I have already paid a full deposit of £3500. Since receiving my driving licence in 2005 by which I passed in a fabia I have owned fabia's recently fabia vrs 2004 for 3 years which I reluctantly sold in march to fund my deposit for my new fabia. I truly would recommend skoda to anyone as I cannot see myself in any other vehicle as it is such a good car. For the life of me I don't understand why it takes such a long time for this vehicle to be manufactured and the information is so vague as to where the vehicle is up to. At the present moment I am currently driving a family friends 25 year old vehicle until the new one arrives, I hope you can appreciate my frustration and would like some answers on why and when. At the moment skodas moto is 'we manufacture happy drivers' let's keep this up and get the vehicles out for customers like me.

Yours faithfully
