Have you had a confirmed build date or heard from Skoda? The only reason I am getting mine so quick is that it was already on the system with no name next to it when i ordered.

i got a look at the system on the 8th (there abouts) with all the dates, cant remember the other dates exactly, but delivery to Simpsons Colne was on as "28th April" and Neil told me i should be able to take it away on the 1st May should nothing go wrong.

i was just wondering if being in the middle of the bank holiday weekend would affect anything to do with finalising the details or whatever, any checks the mechs may have to do etc. due to people having the bank holiday off.. im hoping my dad was just trying to wind me up :dull:

Shouldn't be an issue. Dealer can register a car online these days apparently and I think I was told it can be done up to three days before collection.

Just to fuel the "Black Pack" debate; the online configurator has it as an option... so why are dealers telling us cars built after week 22 have it as standard? Slightly bemused. Surely if it came as standard it wouldn't be on the website.

My car is week 27 build and I don't know if a Rallye Green Fabia will suit the black pack.

i am not sure that skoda knows the answer

given that build dates are not guaranteed till you have the keys

myself i begin to think iam a mushroom kept in the dark fed bullshine

Had a e-mail reponse from my dealer about order times / black pack;

"The "Black pack" as far as we are aware will become standard equipment on model year 12 Fabia Vrs cars (build wk 22 onwards) along with slightly different badging, your car is currently build wk 25 so should come through with it, however at this point I cannot guarantee that. The model year 12 cars are also having a slight pricing change as well, all current orders are price protected, however if the car does indeed come as a my12 then you would have to pay the slight increase difference, the Black pack at this point cannot be ordered as a separate option so if your cars build week comes forward slightly i.e before wk 22 then we cannot do anything about it. We are expecting the pricing difference to be confirmed around wk19 (when the factory opens new build weeks for model year 12 cars)"

Ordered my VRS Hatch in WK12, and currently have a WK25 build date (so about 16 weeks from order to receipt, maybe)

Can they ask for more money, due to build changes, after I have ordered? They'll be very very lucky to get any more money from me!

I think that sounds like another dealer that hasn't got a clue and is talking crap.

One minute it says your order is price protected and then the next that you might have to pay more. Check your order form but if they asked me for any more I'd tell them to stick it and demand my deposit back.

Fabia hatch SE 1.2 TSI 105 PS with DSG, Pacific Blue + cruise control, rear parking sensors and others.

Ordered 21 Feb 2011, build week 20 given on 1 March

Dealer called 19 April 2011 to say my car is back on the build list at week 22. I called dealer 6 May. In the 2.5 weeks since 19 April, the build week has move 3.5 weeks back to WEEK 26 With delivery around 28 July it might be 18 weeks from order to delivery.

I wonder if the delays in getting a build week are down to the Sat Nav option being added. I can't see any cars ordered March onwards with Sat Nav being assigned a build week whereas others without Sat Nav have a build week.

Maybe the recent long lead times have something to do with the new + unit?

Sat nav is NOT the reason..

Ordered fabia combi active 1.2 tsi DSG 20.10.10, got build week 9. then build week 14.. now no build week..

satine grey

electric sunroof

sunset

mdi

tow bar

bluetooth handsfree

crusecontroll

climatronic

parkingsensors

+++ but NO sat nav (tomtom in my htc hd2 is way much better).

Check my sig. Got a build week of 27 at this moment in time.

I stand corrected - thanks Silv

An update on my vRS hatch order;

Ordered WK12

First Build Date; WK28

Second Build Date; WK25

Third Build Date; WK20

It appears that they may be squeezing it through before the WK22 changes....

Fabia hatch Greenline ii, in red (of course).

Only extras: rear parking sensors.

Ordered 5.3.11 and given estimate of 20 weeks.

29.3 given a provisional build week of week 16, hoping to take delivery by end of May.

Just been confirmed by the dealer that my car has been built (week 16 as promised) and I should have it in 3 weeks or so! :D

Really? Skoda customer services told me my vRS is being built this week (week 16) but would be with me in just over a month. If it's more like 3 week then that would be fantastic!

bad news for me, had a 13 day delay on my build, build started this week.. should have it on 14th may now.. no need to worry about the royal wedding getting in the way, and it means i get an extra 2 weeks wage in so im alright for cash (was getting a bit tight)

ordered 5/3/11

pickup 13/5/11

10 weeks exactly, 70 days instead of 57 =/

Nice, hope for us yet

Well that's what he said, but I don't know if he meant I'll be driving away in it in 3 weeks time. To be honest if its with me 3 weeks from now that'd be just under 10 weeks - half the quoted wait time! I don't mind if it takes a little longer to be ready, as its already a lot quicker than I'd resigned myself to...

Ordered my VRS on 7th March, expecting it at the end of May. Just had a call from the dealer to say my build date is now around 24th August! I will be cancelling I'm afraid.

Fair play, i'd give it another week though as they'll probably change the date again.

Mine has gone from week 22 - week 20. Checking next week for an update.

Apparently the Estate vRS are coming through faster than the hatch. Not sure why, I thought it had something to do with options but who knows!

When we ordered our Fabia 1.2TSi + DSG on 21 February 2011, I looked through the small print and saw that you could cancel if the car was not delivered within 21 daya of the delivery date (with deposit back) BUT if no date appears on the Order document (our dealership nevers adds one) then there is no comeback for "later than expected".

It would seem reasonable to get your deposit back if the dealer reused your "factory slot" for someone else but don't quote me.

I took the view (when week 20 build went to 38) that as long as the dealer provided us with a loan car from for the excessive time (18 weeks) it was not worth cancelling - mainly because of the value for money with the 20% off. In the event, week 38 has come back to 22 but until I hear that "it's being built this week", I won't be celebrating.

I'm not a patient person but without a "committed delivery date" on the contract, I'm stuck. My consolation is a large glass of red wine, sitting out in the warm weather, gazing at the Fabia manual, looking at the at the pictures and posting on this forum. At least it beats gardening and decorating.
