Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

i should still be in for a 57 day order to pickup.. i havnt had a call yet about any delays.. leaves me with 17 days till pick up.. but.. my dad mentioned that its in the middle of a bank-holiday, sunday 1st may (Royal wedding).. i sure as hell hope it doesnt affect me getting the vRS :'(

I'd suggest that if you havent had a call to confirm that your car has already been built then it won't be ready for you to pick up in 17 days. Just going by the information others have posted here.

I wonder if Skoda or Skoda UK are clever enough to monitor this website to keep an eye on the mood of their customers?

The organisation which I am a part of has an associated website (Janner will know what I'm talking about) which we have found necessary to keep an eye on at a variety of levels just to keep us in touch with grass roots feeling.

I can't help thinking that if Skoda had a feel for how some of us percieve that we are being treated they might do something about it, even if it is only to tell us the actual truth rather than the platitudes we get from our respective dealers and SUK Customer services.

Rant over!

:dull:

That would be a good suggestion to make to Skoda I think, but given that their dealerships are somewhat autonomous, it could prove quite a task to advise them to 'tell us like it is'as this may result in them losing a certain number of customers.

I can feel an email to the MD coming on........ :giggle:

Had a phone call today, mine is at the dealers. They are preparing it for collection next week, decided to collect it on Friday as its a bank holiday and I can go and have a play in it.

 its arrived

Dealer rang me yesterday. Got a week 27 build date (8th July). She expressed that it was provisional and could got up or down by 2 weeks. Not bad going

When did you order Silv?

That aint bad is it mate! i ordered two weeks after you as you know an i havent even got a build date yet :( all the best with her though when she come :D

Fabia vRS Hatch

Spec: Candy White, Black Alloys, Mats

Ordered: 15/02/11

Dealer: Estimate of 12 weeks from the dealer

Build Date: Originally 17, moved to 15, then back to 19, now no build week

Starting to get a little annoyed now. Both customer services and dealer can't provide any answers about when i can actually expect to receive it. I have sold my car now which makes it even more frustrating.

It was much welcomed news as I thought it would take until september if I believed SUK.

Also, just seen the Black Pack on the online configurator... which makes me think all fabia's will still be built with chrome lights and grill unless specified like any other extra.

Mine was ordered 2 weeks after you but I have a build date 5 weeks before you... how odd

Interesting that March ordered Fabia are getting build dates. Still no news on a build date for my Roomster, ordered 3/3/11

Ho hum :S

Now I am on the verge of getting really grumpy!

As I said in a previous post I sent an e-mail to Mr Hazlewood after my last bout of bull**** from SUK Customer Services; my e-mail system has just informed me that the message was "deleted without being read" this morning.

Now I know that there are ways and means of reading an e-mail without activating the read reciept but I think if he had any intention of replying this would not be the case. At least I now know how truely important I am to SUK!

To add insult to injury there seems to be more and more vehicles coming through that were ordered after mine and I still have nothing by way of even a provisional build date. I shall do my usual round of dealer, SUK, angry, sulk this morning I'm sure!

:swear:

Just to throw another spanner in the works, been given an updated build date of week 20 :D

So it's 2 weeks sooner now then than previously thought? Looking gooood. Maybe Skoda have pulled the proverbial finger out. B)

As of this morning my Vrs is at port in Germany. Customer services say 3-4 weeks from now till it gets to the dealer. Does that sound about right?

Fabia vRS Hatch

Spec: Candy White, Cruise Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Amundsen Sat Nav, Electric Sunroof, Front Armrest.

Ordered: 11/03/11.

Dealer: Through leasing company at work. Estimated date of delivery to them is 22/7/11.

Build Date: No build date given.

It's tough to cope with the wait as I want my car asap, especially because SUK had arranged for two Friday to Monday test drives for me that never happened (1st one was crashed on its way to be delivered. 2nd was vandalised on previous test). The info I have seems to be fairly consistent with others, which makes me confident that the end of July date is a maximum lead time. The down-side is it's unlikely to mean I'll get a surprise early delivery unless someone with the same spec as mine cancels their order.

Fabia vRS (extras: Rallye green, black roof, black wheels, rear electric windows and 'Black Pack' as an aftermarket add on)

Ordered: 26/02/11. Told 12-16 weeks for delivery but expect it to be closer to 16.

Build Date: First provisional buid date of week 18, as of 01/04/11 moved forward to build week 16.

Update: been confirmed that car is being built this week (16) and will be with me in just over a month! Dealer hasn't bothered to contact me to tell me this.

Getting excited now!

Getting excited now!

My GL2 is supposed to be built this week, but like you I've not had this confirmed by the dealer. Last Wednesday he said it was still showing as week 16 but wasn't showing as confirmed. He said he'd be in touch later this week. I'm hoping that the fact he hasn't been in touch to say its been moved is a good sign!

If it's the VRS model your waiting on pray for after week 22 build date. It's the 2012 model year from then on 'C chassis' and will come with black grill surround & headlamps like the monte carlos and a stubby roof airiel.

Oh who's happy/upset now ?

There's no difference in chassis. And mine will have the 'black pack' whatever week it is built.

So clearly I'm still happy and you're not :p

Ding

Three weeks is about right. Mine is at the dealers now I pick it up on Friday. It actually arrived at the dealers last Friday and that was three weeks from when I was informed it was at the docks in Germany.

Cheers stringbag

The dealer told me it would be with them by the end of the month but I doubt that very much.
