Has anyone used these before? Drivers window has given up, I can see that the "metal wire" has fraid and snapped. These cost £20, or a new replacement cost upto £75.

I need the same thing for the same window on my car, although I haven't taken apart the door card yet in fear of making things worse!

Seems like a few people have this issue obviously the oem part has a particularly short shelf life!

I have one waiting to be fitted to my passenger door when I get time. Thought I'd give the cheaper option a go. Nothing to loose.

Door card pretty simple to remove. Just gentle manipulating ....don't get angry with it or you'll break bits!

Kit arrived, and upon checking, it looked a bit on the cheap side, plastic parts not looking as strong as the originals.

Saturday AM, got it fitted, bit of a pain. tried and tested and working ok. Put the door card back on and thought "yay job done..." when I next went to use it, I heard the familiar sound of 'gnashing' as breaks again.... :( The metal wire has deformed around the motor wheel, so not even re usable :( so lesson learnt, don't buy cheap stuff from ebay !!

I have just fitted one of these but what I will say is the pulley in the kit appears to be the wrong size so if you can use the original one and just replace the cables. It has only been 24 hour so far so I will let you know how long it lasts.
