Yeti shipping details?

thats email address i've always used and it takes on average about a week for them to reply but they always have replied, so hang on in there.

I had a letter from Skoda UK in response to my email which I thought was quite nice of them, considering that all I told them was my name they managed to find my address somewhere on the system too.

The letter was dated April 12 and said that the car was ready for shipping and should arrive at the dealer within 15 days. So three days on, I presume it is now within 11 days. Also the goodwill payment is "dealer credit" which makes it sound like you have to spend it with the dealer, I was hoping for a cheque to me!

Thanks for the info about the insurance, will ask if that will speed things up.

The goodwill payment can be in Marks and Spencer vouchers OR in delaer credits to spend on accessories. I have at last had my calls to SUK returned re my missing £150: apparently they have spoken to someone at the dealer's (whose name is a new one on me), who has to initiate the process (SUK allegedly can't!!) and I should expect my missing payment within 4-5 weeks. I have to call at the dealer's early next week to collect the replacement roof bar trim that fell off in France (see other posts!) so I shall check out this byzantine process then. The cynic in me still believes that, by being hopelessly inefficient about the whole business, SUK hope that customers will just forget about, or give up on, goodwill payments.

Disappointed that nobody from the dealer phoned me today as promised to tell me about the progress of my Yeti. Suppose I will have to chase them up (again) on Monday. There is a nearer dealer in the town where I live so these people are at risk of losing my custom for future servicing. They don't seem very good at returning calls.

There seems to be a daily delivery from Emden into Grimsby, the Weser Highway called yesterday and the Main Highway docked this afternoon. The Weser Highway is on her way back over and docks again tomorrow afternoon. Will hope for some good news on Monday!

BTW, has anyone got one of the cool /hot boxes for their Yeti? I may make a separate post about that. Was wondering if I had to have dealer credit then it might be a good thing to get but wondered about the efficiency of it?

Mine was built week 13 and arrived on UK soil this weekend after spending two weeks sitting in Emden. Which week was your car built?

Hi Bassa,

Mine was also built in Week 13 according to the York dealers and last I heard it had been released for shipping. Very much hoping for some news tomorrow.

Did your dealer phone you with this news? Mine promised to be in touch on Saturday but didn't call. I like to think that when I call tomorrow I might get some joy. I was told that after it arrives at Grimsby it's very quick to be delivered to York but I wasn't told how long it takes.

Hi LizC,

been ships coming and going to Grimsby very regularly, the Main and Weser Highway both called in over the weekend. The EMS is due to arrive tomorrow but currently having a crew break at Emden.

I purchased my previous Monster from York when the dealership belonged to Martyn Beever; arrived at Grimsby on Friday evening and was in their compound Wednesday morning.

Regards,

TP

Heard from the dealer on Saturday to say it had arrived in Grimsby. Not certain when it actually arrived though as I only get a weekly update from them. Now I'm waiting for it to be delivered to the dealer which should be imminent. What will not help though is the DVLA opening times, a 4 day week this week, followed by a 3 day week and then another 4 day one. The road tax on my p/x expires at the end of this month and I have a personalised plate transfer, so I may possibly have to get a loan car for a few days.

Hope you soon get the news you are waiting for Liz.

Thanks everyone. The dealer phoned this morning to say my Yeti was still awaiting shipping at Emden but said they would email Skoda to see if there was any update. Not heard anything since then although they promised to phone me back this afternoon.

Suspect I won't now get it this week and maybe not next due to the bank holidays.

emoticon-0106-crying.gif:giggle: still ship spotting and currently the EMS Highway is at sea heading for Grimsby due there early in the morning; fingers crossed your Monsters on board

Currently in port at Emden is the Elbe Highway just back from Russia, she's birthed in the right area but unsure were she's going next. Due in in the next 24 hours are the Weser back from Grimsby and the Neckar Highway from Estonia.

Very excited to get a call from the dealer at tea time to say my Yeti has arrived at Grimsby and they are contacting a transport firm tomorrow to arrange delivery to York. My colleague's father works at Grimsby unloading Skodas and he said half a dozen white ones arrived at the weekend so I was hopeful mine was one of them. Hope other people who are also waiting get good news soon.

I guess these bank holidays coming up will cause delays but the garage has promised to hurry it along as much as they can.

Well awoke this morning to find a ship heading from Emden to Sheerness; due in around 4pm :)

Hoping this time she's on board or it's another week of waiting :wonder:

Just had confirmation that my car jumped forward from week 17 and was confirmed as built this morning. B)

Now just have to wait until it manages to find it's way to the UK (I would assume a couple more weeks yet).

Great news Richard :)

Just had a mail from James and it would appear my Monsters status has changed to shipped  so I can only assume she's currently on the Elbe Highway off the East Anglia coast B)

Good for you, TP and others expecting delivery soon.....if you've looked at the 7 speed thread I recently opened you'll see that I was told this morning that mine was classified as 'shipped' yesterday (18th) and should be OK for collection from the 9th May onwards - myself, I'll book my train for the 10th and keep fingers crossed. Presumably yours and mine are keeping each other company on the same boat?

Good luck with yours....you'll be quite pleased, I imagine. I've never driven a Yeti myself so it will be quite interesting come the 10th - and it'll need driving back here - about 220 miles, so might have formed an opinion by the time I get home.

Hi oldstan,

Great news

Had a spin 'round the block' in Allams 1.2TSI DSG SE and your going to enjoy it I know, particularly once the engine has freed up. Wife's Fabia 1.2TSI 85 now has 6000 on the clock (due to not having the Monster) and it just gets better and better :) :) :)

Thanks. I'll brace myself! :)

My dealer, in West London, today told me (and I believe him and trust he was telling me what he feels and not just what he wants me to know) that his ideal car and one he would buy for himself, is a diesel DSG Elegance Yeti with sunroof, heated screen, elec. seats and TPM. Colour - not white, he said, ...maybe Steel Grey or Musky.

He's aware of the 7 speed hesitation I refer to but doesn't consider it to be an issue - more a characteristic to be aware of and, if needed, to cater for.

Once you get used to it then you won't notice the 'hesitation' which is only very slight. Like your dealers choice B) although obviously I think mines better; based on 13000 miles and a bad winter with the last one ;):D Only proviso would be the electric seat which is very good but I couldn't justify the high asking price.

TP
