Yeti shipping details?

Featured Replies

Have had a Yeti on order since early November 2010 and heard last week that it had been built in Week 13 and was awaiting shipping.

I've had a quick browse of the forum and it sounds as though people can check in some way through a Skoda website to find out when their car is to be shipped. Does anyone have details of that please? It will be delivered to the north East so wondered if it would come in via Grimsby? Would be excited to see it on the marine ais tracking as it makes its way over.

Thanks

Liz

sorry trakmyskoda.co.uk

But it only works if you ordered your skoda from Bickerton skoda in sheffield or rainworth skoda in mansfield.

mines still at dockside in emden, but the site runs about 3 days behind the dealers system

Thanks very much to both for replies. Unfortunately my dealer is not one of those so I presume I will just have to wait for the dealer to update me.

I was told last week that it was built in Week 13 and was awaiting shipping so I presume I could get it by the end of next week as that would be two weeks after I'd heard it was built.

Mine arrived 2 and a half weeks after it's build week, so shouldn't be long now!

Sounds like mine may not be far behind yours. Can I ask how you got a goodwill gesture of £300?

Thanks

there are two goodwill gestures Liz, they are triggered by the amount of time you have had to wait for your car from the day of ordering it to the day you pick it up.

week 18 is when the first one of £150 is triggered

week 25 is when the second £150 is triggered

basically these have to be claimed after you pick up your car, and are often paid in either M&S vouchers or you can use them on services or items from the dealer.(though someone here did say they got thiers in the form of a cheque )

the reason i know i have mine is because i called into my dealer during last week to chase my order up and was told that I wasnt entitled to the goodwill gestures for the amount of time i've waited, 29 weeks from next monday i think.

So i emailed the head of customer service at skoda uk and asked him to clarify my situation and also advise the dealer that i was allowed the gesture payments. this was done in a very prompt manner by skoda uk and i got confirmation email 2 days ago.

Not sure what's going on, mine was built week 13, transported to Emden and loaded onto a ship 2nd April. The system still shows it on a ship ! That is now 6 days from Emden to Grimsby - do they go via the South China Seas or are they very slow in updating the system ?

I've heard of a slow boat to China but .........:giggle:

Thanks very much for the info about the goodwill payment, the dealer hasn't mentioned anything about this to me but as we're now into the 22nd week after the order (November 6, 2010) I would think we should be entitled to at least one of the payments mentioned.

any idea if the 'goodwill' payment will be paid if car purchased through Autofinders? (i've just had it confirmed that mine will be 26 weeks)

Thanks

Could someone please let me have Skoda UK's email address so I can find out about the goodwill payment? I've been onto their website and can't see it anywhere.

A lot of cars destined for the north-east (my Yeti included) come into Tyne Port rather than Grimsby.

Could someone please let me have Skoda UK's email address so I can find out about the goodwill payment? I've been onto their website and can't see it anywhere.

This was SUK's response to my enquiry from only a few days ago:-

"You are correct that Skoda UK are recognising the disappointment our customers have felt with delayed vehicle deliveries and so

are offering £150 retailer credit for vehicles delayed by at least 18 weeks, and a further £150 retailer credit in the

unfortunate situation that a vehicle is delayed by 25 weeks.

Each member of our approved retailer network are fully competent in claiming these goodwill gestures, which will be actioned

once your vehicle arrives on site. I would therefore recommend that you contact your Sales Person, who will be able to discuss

the goodwill gesture in detail with you."

Like the faith they have in each member of their approved retailer network being fully competent in claiming the goodwill gestures - very comforting :giggle:

I also contacted Skoda UK about the "Goodwill Gesture" and can confirm that it is correct. Interestingly, I mentioned that Nissan were providing loan cars for customers waiting for delivery on Qashqai cars and she told me that Skoda dealers were also offering a similar service.

AAll (theoretically) correct about the goodwill gesture, although I am having trouble getting mine! I was due to receive £300, confirmed in an email from SUK Customer care in February, but received only £150 earlier this week. I have chased it up with SUK Customer Care, who said yesterday that they had 'system problems' and couldn't check it out and promised to get back to me by this afternoon 'at the latest'. They haven't.

I emailed Skoda customer services four days ago and not had any response yet.

I was told yesterday that my Yeti was at the port awaiting shipping and I might get it the first week in May. When I queried this, as it seemed a long time, the salesman said there was a delivery into Grimsby yesterday and it might be on board. Seems a little disorganised to say the least. He promised to phone me tomorrow with news.

I also mentioned the £150 goodwill payment and there was a bit of a silence. I don't think it would have been mentioned to me if I hadn't mentioned it first, certainly in all the calls I've made to them they haven't said anything about it. He said he would contact Skoda UK about it.

So just a bit of a waiting game at the moment. I presume they will need my insurance firm to get a cover note to them anyway so that they can get it taxed, is there any way of hurrying that up or getting it before I get the car, as I don't have a registration number yet?

Thanks,

Once my car arrives I will take out the 7 day free Skoda insurance. When the car arrives at the dealer's, they will give me the freephone number plus a reference number to phone and give to the insurers. The insurance certificate will then be emailed directly to my dealer so saving any potential postal delays. When I collect the car I will cancel the free insurance and set up the vehicle change with my main insurers. As to registration number that would normally be provided once the car arrives at the dealer's unless it has been pre chosen. In my case it is a cherished plate transfer which can take a bit longer with the DVLA. It can be speeded up by the earlier placing of the plate on retention but this is even extra cost. With a normal new registration, it should be speedier and straightforward.

SUK Customer Care does appear to be back into 'need to be chased' mode. When querying my missing goodwill payment this week, I first left a message, which I was told would have a reply within 3 hours - I had to follow up myself two days later. The person I then spoke to said he would be back in touch with me 'by tomorrow' - I had to chase again two days later (yesterday) when I was promised a return call later in the day. Has it come? NO! So I'll be back on the phone today, by the look of it.

Its probably pot luck but I seem to have had a quicker response (if you can call it that) by emailing them direct using [email protected] rather than contacting them via their website.

thats email address i've always used and it takes on average about a week for them to reply but they always have replied, so hang on in there.
