  • Update,   The blue wheels have now been removed and sold to another Fabia vRS owner as track wheels. I have reverted back to the standard alloys.   Also I have damaged the Cupra splitter so that's

So do you just buy the seats from there? Or do they re trim the white ones to leather?

They just re- cover the old seats, you get the old covers back and they also cover the door cards In leather.

Update time...

This weekend I finally got the rear brakes sorted. 232mm out. 256mm in.

For a very reasonable £65.00 on Ebay fresh from the back of an Octavia 1 vRS. Note bent pin...

(I did get a pair, just incase you think I only got the one!)

Refurb time...

The colour was mixed by a local odd job. He mixed the paint and painted my front 312's for £20 and then painted the rears for £20 and gave me all the spare paint. He's so cheap! Then I re-did them about 4 times to get a good thick coat. the colour match isn't right, it's sort of pea green, but i like it!

Pagid discs & pads. Octavia vRS spalsh plates and a Claiper refurb kit all ready for fitting.

279.jpg

A local mechanic did the fitting. I did the reasearch on Briskoda and told him how they should go on. He struggled a bit, but it all went on fine in the end. He cursed me for wanting the spalsh plates on!

Fitted...

The hand brake is now rather stiff. I'll have to get it looked at. I can't comment on the performance yet, having only driven one mile. They feel worse but they will get better over time (I hope). I think they look a lot better than the 232mm solid set-up.

Today I fitted my metal pressed paltes and plate surrounds...

284.jpg

287.jpg

I'm not yet sold on these. The front now looks a bit tacky thanks to the plate surround and there is too much going on with the back of the car. I need to loose the ring sticker for starters and maybe the Fabia badge too.

I also stuffed all my winter bits and bobs in the boot (first aid, screen wash, waterproofs, gloves, shovel, road salt etc) I then added a festive touch to ther rear tow hook...

286.jpg

Thanks for lookin! Plenty more to come...

Debadge and lose the plate surrounds and it will look alot better less cluttered and smoother looking. Good one on the rear brakes I plan to do the upgrade also but gb automotive want mega money for them. Good work so far.

I've drove 25 miles earlier. The balance of the car has changed a lot when stopping. It seems like the front brakes are doing less than they were. Ive not done any hard braking yet as I was told to bed them in for a little while first. Annoyingly the rear brakes now make mooing noises in reverse. I believe there is a kit to fix this, has anyone got a link for it?

I believe calipers springs from a VW Sharan sort that our, do a search in fabia section for sharan.

Here are some pictures of my OEM Xenons, fitted yesterday by Tech1e. I used a 55w HID kit powering 4300k D2S bulbs.

The lights came from the group buy running on here, yours for £184.99.

I really really like them, shame I won't be doing much night time driving now! I need to get them aligned as other drivers were giving me their full beams last night, being a 55w HID kit as opposed to the 'correct' 35w doesn't help!

The last pic is not right as I (badly) fitted a protective film to prevent chipping and scratching. That was the 5th attempt I think!

Comments and criticisms welcome...

Xenons look great! Whats the deal with the blue full beam bulb?

  • Author

They were the dipped beam in my old lights, but weren't blue when running, pure white. Now they are extremely blue! Strange. I'll change them in the Autumn I think, standard bulbs will give me lots more light when the nights draw in

Looking good. The Xenon's really finish the car off I think

Wee little update.

My car was lowered today by Tech1e. I went for Knoi FSD's and Eibach springs which I got second hand off here. I also changed the top mounts front and rear and the front bearing. Meyle uprated ARB links and Ibiza Cupra rear bump stops went on too.

I believe this is a 25mm drop, So my car isn't low, 'not high' is how I'd describe the look now. Seems to ride much better too.

While Ross (Tech1e) was driving my car to test the new suspension smoke started pouring into the cabin from under the driver side A pillar headlining. Turned out the wiring for my Blackvue drive recorder had snagged on the rear view mirror and dramatically burnt itself out. I thought my car was about to burst into flames!

Oh and I sold my 5 refurbished Octavia 17" Spiders yesterday for £325 and picked up 5 more Octavia 17" Spiders for £175 which will be refurbished in a silly colour...

Was a bit concerned about the smoke, pretty random wasnt it..lol

Hope your happy with the work done :)

Here goes... :giggle:

Unfortunately the guy who painted them gave me them a bit too soon. He closed the boxes and helped me load them into my car. I got home and the faces had smudged against the cardboard. He's re-doing them FOC but it's still annoying, I just want them fitted!!

I pick this up tomorrow too! The intercooler, not the car that is. :giggle:

It's off Joshh, a guy on here.

It's the Forge Seat Sport Style intercooler kit, the core is fully welded for extra strength.

Don't Forge do a specific kit for Fabia rather than Ibiza?

They do, but it's quite a bit smaller, more expensive and (apparently) still requires some cutting to fit.

They have been on a few days now, I really like them! BUT they are a pig to clean and the rears have a a few small stone chips after just 9 days! I think they will look a bit sorry by winter, then i'll get them powdercoated and laquered like my previous wheels, those proved to pretty robust against chipping. I need to sort some matching blue centre caps to complete the look.

DSC_0186.jpgTyres are Yokohama Parada Spec 2 215/40/17. They are epic in the dry and terrible in the wet. I think I'll fit some winter tyres to my old alloys and then take the Spiders off come the cold weather.

Wow they are ace. I've also got a brand new set of centre caps if you need them ;)

Plan was to paint my old faded ones blue, seems a shame to paint nice ones! Fancy painting them?

Update Time

I've booked the car in with a well known tuner who are going to fit a nice GTB turbo kit. I've gone for the GTB1756 as I want to retain plenty of low down shove.

It will get a hard pipe kit to the FMIC and an uprated clutch aswell.

Cant wait...
