vRS Joe's Fabia I vRS - GTB Turbo!

Featured Replies

I thought I would start a progress thread, it seems like the done thing at the moment.

I acquired the car in September 2010 with 51000 miles. It was complely standard and needing a bit of TLC (It was cheap).

Niggles that I've sorted out..

Full service & new cam belt needed

Fuel flap would not close

Smashed wingmirror

Torn seats front and rear

No rear wiper

Worn bushes and drop links

Corroded & kerb'd alloys

I had intended to keep the car standard, but just couldn't help myself! Once the niggles were sorted the modifications began...

Black Code custom Re-map to 170bhp and 410nm/ torque (about 302lbft).

Full Seat Surgeons leather re-trim

Seat LCR front splitter

Whiteline RARB

312mm front brakes

Pd 160 pipe

Devontupia's bonnet lifter kit plus other 'little' things.

Since it was such a nice day and the car was clean yesterday I took a few piccs in the the garden...

My plans are..

A cheap set of coilovers and approx 50mm drop

Paint the 17" Spiders I have in sparkle silver & fit

Front end re-spray, colour coded bump strips & door handles and general paint touch up

Miltec Sport cat exhaust

Retro fit cruise control

Shark fin ariel

Powerflex bushes

Get it on a rolling road

If money allows I'll go for a hybrid pd150 turbo set-up, probs looking at about £3.5k + for this.

Thanks for looking!

I had my car on a Dyno today at P Torque, Wolverhampton.

The car made 167bhp and 288lbft. Thats slightly less than I hoped, but it's a smooth power curve with torque kept at a level which will keep the clutch from slipping. Also it sounded good for a derv and produced very little smoke. So I'm happy at the end of the day.

Will at P torque said he could re-map for slightly more power, but it would not be worth it for a gain of maybe 10bhp at the top end.

I'll post the graph later.

Great car buddy!

where did you get the seats done?

Thanks,

It was Seat Surgeons, York

They have done dozens of Fabia's and there are lots of examples of their work on Briskoda.

It's definately the place to go, your seats look fantastic.
