The workhorse/second car has now been found...

Featured Replies

A 2000 X reg Toledo TDi SE in blue metallic to be precise

123k miles, it's had the cambelt change and various other bits and pieces, and drives as sweet as a nut - boot is cavernous

Smooths rough roads a treat as well on 15" 65 profile tyres

Seems much better screwed together than modern day Seats too

Pics of the actual vehicle will be posted after I've collected it, but here's an example

Looks great, great cars too. B)

Pretty good choice for a workhorse I'd say.

I did like them in their day.

:sick::rofl:

Pretty good cars, basically a MK1 Octavia under the bodywork.

Just checked out tyre prices at Camskill.....

Michelin Energy Saver - £59.80........that's £70 per tyre less than the Octavia - brilliant :thumbup:

How long will this last till the modifications begin emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Would look sweet with some gold spiders on.

Top work Brimdog

we had a burgundy one on the work fleet (althoguh it was a PD130 so not sure if it was an SE or not) did quarter of a million (very hard) miles with the work fleet and i think its still running in the hands of the daughter of one of our staff.

Yeah right! What's the price for a set of 19's? You know you can't help yourself.... :rofl:

Well done Sir Brimmalot, I've always liked Toledos :thumbup:

Umm... it's a Skoda, right? :S

Well, sort of... :thumbup::giggle:

The phrase you were looking for Sim is....

"It's a VAG"

:thumbup:

Have just got an original full set of wheels and tyres (2 of which are new) on ebay for the princely sum of £50 - I can feel a gold refurb coming on B)

Am I right in saying the Toledo has the chassis as the Octava, as I thought you wanted a small run-around, eg Fabia or even Lupo sized, but still.

Looking at that pic it looks in mint condition and I guess the price is right. :thumbup:Edit: The one in the pic is not the one you are looking at, that one is a 1.8, 20v petrol. I can't wait to see the one you bought.

P.S. I was just going to ask when are those wheels going to turn Subaru Gold. :giggle: However, I personally don't think blue and gold works. :no:

Yep, I think you are, the Toilet Toledo is just a Leon with a boot iirc. ;)

Leon is the Toledo with a hatchback to be technically accurate :giggle:

Now boys, let's not argue - you never catch me arguing with anyone on here

I prefer the Mk2 Golf based Toledo mk1, which when you look at it has a lot in common with the mk1 Octy. Golf based hatchback with a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE boot, Golf engines/gearboxes, no rear wiper on early models, decent-ish spec & 'Netto' pricing.

Won't be long - collected car tonight - the spec for a 2000 reg car is fantastic - digital climate control, folding door mirrors - haven't got either of those on my 2008 Octavia

Anyone want to buy a black Octavia estate?

Only joking :p

Good choice Bry emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Looks like a good buy Brimma. Enjoy :)

Had the first opportunity to give the Seat a run today - 43 mile round trip to visit mum in hospital, and was amazed at the economy

I was hoping it would be good, but......
