Is that the reflection of your lightsabre?

I've said it once and I'll say it again.........

....and a close up of the odometer doesn't count! :p

Had the first opportunity to give the Seat a run today - 43 mile round trip to visit mum in hospital, and was amazed at the economy

I was hoping it would be good, but......

If that's as accurate as the one I had I wouldn't trust it at all... Mine used to average high 50s according to the computer but in real life was actually high 40s... Still not bad though and I did like my Toledo...

Start off with a full tank, do the trip again and note the miles travelled - then fill to the brim again

Then with that accurate value, you can adjust the 'fuzzy logic' with VCDS emoticon-0148-yes.gif

wouldnt you have to set off from one petrol station, to travel to another petrol station for this method to be accurate?

Nope. All you need to do is brim the tank to the 'click' point. That's the constant. As long as you know how many miles you've driven when you go into the next petrol station and re-fill to the 'click' again, it works fine :)

You then know how much it took to re-fill the tank, and how many miles you got from the amount of fuel that was used.

Using the same forecourt and pump, and re-filling at the same time of day, with the same temperature and humidity is ideal - but not an absolute deal-breaker :)
