Just been crashed into!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Good that you're OK and the car doesn't look *too* bad. I know it must be really frustrating - I know I'm massively paranoid about mine (as it's the first new car I've owned).

Lets hope the insurance companies do the reasonable thing.

I had a similar accident to the OP in the summer last year where I was coming off a roundabout and the other car went into my side from the outer lane into mine... Its still ongoing, so don't expect any quick outcome... And I have to say, even though I intend to fight it, I suspect it will end up as a 50/50 simply because its my word against hers... The OPs accident sounds very similar, regrettably, so if I was him I'd try to keep costs such as a hire vehicle down just in case... He will probably argue that you came up his inside and thus put yourself in that position where he would sideswipe you...

Always sickening to hear when something like this happens. Think it must be the first vRS to have been in an accident.

Unfortunately not.

Had mine for 8 days, someone backed into it, brand new door.

Gutted. I'm going to be on pins everytime I drive mine when I get it. It's going to be the first brand new car I've ever had.

I've had someone drive into the back of me on a roundabout and claim I was at fault for cutting them up. Insurance company were going to blame me as the other side had a witness. There was no way I was taking the blame for the other drivers incompetence so I spent 4 months convincing the insurance company I was not to blame and then we went to small claims where I won the case. Their witness had 3 different versions of events in statements taken at different times and the other drivers passenger corroborated my version of events.

I really feel for you mate, and here I was about to post a thread moaning about someone de-badging my wheels and scratching the boot... kinda puts it into perspective.

Glad your ok!

Where did that happen? Makes me wonder if it's possible to have a nice car these days without some chav damaging it.

It happened up my Parents in Newport, South Wales. To be honest though I think the car itself was being targeted.... people around there get so angry if you park your car....

It still happens in Swansea too but to pretty much anything not just nice cars. Someone tried stealing the side repeaters off my brothers Felicia and I can't think why they were bog standard.

sorry to hear about your accident, but glad your ok.Just think if it had have been a write off. You'd be waiting another 4 months b4 you got a new one. I'm sure your body-shop guy's will get that sorted in no time.

Sorry to hear about this.

On the bright side the damage doesn't look bad, new doors can be sourced in a day or two and don't cost as much as you'd think, so that should be fixed up pretty quick.

With regards to photos though, always get a picture of the aciddent location with the cars still on it.

I fight about 8 or so claims per year on our fleet policy and it makes life so much easier.

I fear the 'youth' in our part of the country just have nothing better to do with their time eh ;)

Not nice to hear anyone having an accident.Make sure you insist on quality bodywork repair/ especially the right colour match for the paintwork, from a genuine skoda dealer.

Its not the green one by dunstable is it? I think I have followed you a few times if it is. I have noticed it parked on the roadside instead of in that cul de sac.

I live in Somerton, and thats pretty much the same, but we have had our front garden converted into a driveway now, so at least they are right in front of the house!

Ah, the Chavvy youth of today.....Gits!

Thats us :)

Although the debadging occurred in St Julians on Heather Road of all places

I dont like parking it on the road although I always do the night before bin day as the day we picked it up a load of bins left by the car got set fire too, thankfully no damage to the car but it nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw the flames, from where I was looking it looked like the car was on fire!

What with newport being one big chav infested council estate these days, nothing is safe anywhere really.

Oops, and apologies for hi-jacking the thread a little......

Same advice to the OP as everyone else has said, make sure it goes to someone reputable, and don't worry too much, It'll be back like new!

Gutting - I would be fuming if that were me. Make sure they do a top job and go to a repairer of YOUR choice not the insurers.

This is what we did and as we live in the same area as Jordo we have recommended Reynolds of Rushock near Droitwich. Savilles recommended them to us and the job was up to Original spec. The do all the main VAG makes and Porsche, no mugs. Like Savilles Reynolds are of a level of service and quality that I thought had died out. Sent OP a PM.

Yeah, when my VRS needed a new door the guys who did it were a very good firm who did all cars, but claimed to specialise in VW, Porsche, etc.

The car looked brand new when they were finished with it :)

Every time I scan quickly the posts I see your title and for a split sec I go "oh not another one!" but then I realize my mistake an go DOH! :p
