odd reaction

Featured Replies

On way to pick up daughter (any excuse to drive new motor) stopped at a set of lights, middle-aged block stopped on pavement staring at my V6. I look back, expecting the worst :punch: .

Next thing he breaks into a broad smile and puts both thumps up   and points at the car!

Last time I got a reaction like that was when I drove a red 205 GTi (1.9) back in my twenties, maybe Skodas are becoming cool (well with middle-aged men) :giggle:

they have certainly come along way over the years nice they seem to be losing the stigma as they really are a fab brand now

I've seen both types of response... the guys I car share with are really impressed, perhaps a little sceptical at first, but once they saw it, they were blown away. On the other hand, people who have found out that I've bought a "new" car (never had a "new" car before!!) have asked with interest what I've bought... "Skoda Superb" I respond... and then there's that silence as the tumble-weed blows across the office, and they say with a slightly bemused look "oh". It's these people that I'd love to take down to the car park and show them, because I know they'll also be surprised!!

Stopped at the lights today on the way home and caught a bloke in an A6 having a cheeky look... if I was honest, I'd have to say I felt a bit Smug (is that wrong B):giggle: )

You've had the same reactions that I had to my mk1! Best bit was a Passat driving colleague, he was dismissing then saw the car and commented how much it looked like his car. I told him why but the k.o. punch was the price tag, really thought he was gonna cry when I told him!

Reactions to the new 'un all positive, everyone seems to like the car and colour (cappuccino) but real test will be a week Saturday and a trip to York races with the lads....

Only had positive reaction so far. General astonishment at the quality and space from a few. My boss is about to order a replacement lease car, she currently has a Passat Sport with full leather. When she saw the Superb and I told her the price/fuel consumption etc I can see i have set her a dilema :giggle:

Still doesn't beat the respionse my Escort Cosworth used to get and the RS Capri still gets on occassion.

More than once padestrians have heard the car coming turned their head but ket walking forwards. As their head turns and watches me go past just in time for them to walk staright in to a lamp post or a tree. Best was when someone hit the bus stop as the timetable got the full face rather than a pole in the nose

Superb does get many admiring glasses but asyet no one has received a physical injury while admiring the car go past.

Keep on Smugging. It cost the Audi guy 10 grand for the 4 rings on his badge.

Phil

Good point :giggle:

My brother-in-law is spec'ing up his new company 5 series touring... load restraints come in at £258... I then tried to spec one to the same level as the Superb... and it was £39,950 :o . Not told him... yet :D

And he won't even get working indicators for that sum :giggle:
