" Last email you sent asked about the black pack. I spoke to retailer support who has now confirmed it is definately the MY12 and cant specify the MY11 features, therefore it will have the black grill and the headlights with darkened glass. I do think it suits the car after seeing it on the Monte Carlo, we have one in our showroom if you wanted to have a look.As far as delivery is concerned I agree I don't think they have a clue at the moment, keep telling me customer sold orders take preference.

Monte Carlo looks like it crashed into Halfords IMO . I didn't order a car that looked like that so why are they insisting that I accept it (if) when it comes !!! Emailed customer services to see if it is a no cost delete option. This and the wait since 15th Jan are nearly tipping me over the edge to cancel.........

Can you not ask the dealer to swap over for you FOC before you collect?

Check my thread in the top posting. Been told the opposite to you. I've been told that even though my car hasnt been built yet - because it had chrome grill/lights when I ordered; thats what im getting.

So is it possible to order this from a dealer and get them to fit it in there garage or does it have to be factory fitted ?

I should think once the MY12 cars start coming through you can order the grill/lights etc. It'll be damned expensive for the headlights though!!

In another thread someone said they had priced it up and it was £450 for grill and lights. Grill parts are only £60 so I think I’ll just go for that. I also read on hear that the smoked light also had different electrical connections on them so it would not be a straight replacement fir anyway.

Do you have a confirmed build week ?.

I ordered a vRS a little before you and have a build week of 20. As far as I know the black pack is still from week 22 onwards.I've seen nothing official to contradict this nor heard anything from my dealer. I am of a similar mind to you about the black pack and will flip my lid if the car comes so fitted after such a long wait. Does anyone know for sure if the black pack intoduction week has been changed from 22 ?? . If it has, I'll be on the phone to the dealer to bend his ear.

I think the black looks excellent. I ordered my car without having seen the Monte, and i was delighted to know i was getting the grille and lights.

It's great if you want it and like it but the point is I didn't order it and personally don't like it.

It's a bit off taking orders, delaying for months and then giving you something different.

It's like going to McDonalds, ordering a big mac, being told it'll be 5 minutes then 10 minutes then back to 5, however when you do get your big mac it'll actually be a fillet of bloody fish, like it or lump it.

Wish they'd kept it as an option and kept everyone happy. I'm upset that our car, being built as I type(week 19), will be clearly 'the older model' after waiting 5 months for the damn thing. Not sure I like the change really but with it being standard it will make ours Skoda history before we've even driven it.

Yes mate I've had a few messages already ! Not the point though thats all just want a new car and to get on with it, not keep having problems. never mind !

skoda uk called me today confirmed what the dealer told me monday build week 33

ordered se dsg estate 15/01/2011

in conversation i said i see in the new brochure that the roof bars are now an add on but were standard fit on prev brochure

was told if they were standard on initial order you will have them on your car

i wait and see

when i checked using a mac kept coming up with prev

brochure

cleared prev stored brochuer it then downloaded new brochure

i would imagine clearing cookies may help

it's not difficult for any fabia to get it painted black

in fact i've got my door mirrors in gloss black so they match the a pullars ,a bit like the vrs

the headlights can be darkened, see oxbol's car.

Having seen the black pack in the showroom ,I have gone right off it.

The smoked lights I could just about get away with, but the black grill piece looks chavvy.

No my final answer is...............definitely NOTHING.

Not saying its not difficult... just now that it'll be rolled out on EVERY car just makes it a bit less special as apposed to the few people who wanted their cars to be like it!

Also the grill is now all black around the badge like on the monte. Just makes the monte feel less 'special'

why would anyone want to pat £450 to get the black pack. DIY for less than £20 in materials, or get a body shop to colour code the chrome bits. cost me £20 to get my mirrors in gloss black. If it's properly done you can't tell if it's done in the factory or at a bodyshop.

Original build week was 12 ( ordered on 15th Jan ) then as of 27th March was week 18. Now they say there is no build date but will be a MY12 car.

personally, i think your making quite a big deal about it.

as someone previously posted a lot of people on here (including myself) would be happy to take the black pack off your hands in return for some tacky chrome. yes its not what you ordered and its a slight inconvenience but it can be sorted quite easily. chin up...

Went down to the dealers yesterday and they had a Monte Carlo.....

Looks alot better in the flesh than the pictures so I think it may be growing on me.

I was more peeved that they changed it with out informing people.

Now got build week 24 so getting there !

I had a look at a Monte the other week and I don't think it looks too bad. But the black pack on the Monte is far more extensive (Different front bumper aside) - black front splitter -black arch extentions and sills in addition to the lights and grille. Still think just the lights and grille plonked on the vRS is going to look chavvy - doesn't join up with the rest of the car.
