Hi folks,

Just a short little tribute to the Octavia vRS.

I'm on my second one now having initially owned a 2008 Petrol vRS.

In October 2010 I took delivery of my FL vRS in Candy white having had it on order for approximately 4 months.

After owning my car for some time now, I can honestly say I am still obsessed with it.

I love looking at it.

I love driving it.

I love washing it.

I love owning it.

A true Skoda nut and at this rate can never see me buying another marque.

I laugh at people who snub Skoda or turn their nose up at the badge. It shows how much (or little!) they actually know about cars.

Skoda can't seem to do much wrong at the moment in terms of quality and customer satisfaction.

Long may it continue.

Cheers Skoda.

+1 :)

We love them so much we have two (well one TSI VRS and one 1.8TSI DSG L& K which looks like one VRS finned - L&K debagged). Both black.

The practicality, the biuld quality, the value.

How can other manufacturers be so far away from providing such a product?

Why do people buy Fords, Vauxhalls etc.

Perhaps many don't as they are company wagons but when I am spending my money I want value.

I look at my neighbours 520d and think, your slower, got a smaller boot and it costs £10K more.

I am on my third Skoda and I think it is a brilliant motor. After the first two I had a brief flirtation with a large expensive german which was a disappointing, boring great barge of thing to drive, and after two years of tedious trips to dealer with it to have issues sorted I came back to Skoda which is well thought out thoroughly enjoyable, likeable car.

It is unfortunate that "Outsiders" still seem intent on bringing up the old Skoda jokes and go out and buy, well.. all kinds of other brands, and then complain about how unreliable they all are, that is their loss. I am happy to say that my latest Skoda is by far a better sorted and enjoyable car than the upmarket German one which cost nearly twice as much, I miss the real wood just a little but you don't really see it when you are driving along anyway :D

It is indeed a great car Edd - now you just need to buy a camera that will take a picture in focus ;)

Skoda digital SLR anyone?

+1

Never been very good with a camera Brim. :'(

I've had mine since December & I still feel the same. I've just been for a drive & it's great

My previous car was a Golf GT 140pd & I loved that but replacing it with same spec as my vRS would have been about £5k more and would have been the same engine, gearbox etc etc. Really can't fault the Skoda brand. ;)

I looked at the Golf GTD.....a whole £11k more to spec up the same as what i paid for the Octy....Bit of a no brainer really and i think it stands out more and has a bigger boot!

I lurve my vRS hatch , it is definitely the BEST car i have ever owned, have had 2 BMW's and a Fiat Stilo Multiwagon (fiat for practicality of rear storage) .

The vRS gives me the performance of most other brands high end diesels and more rear storage than any other comparable vehicles for a lot less money. The finish is as good as if not better than most other comparable vehicles.

basically its a No-Brainer, spend less and get a better car. :)

I'm on my third but I do wonder what the insurance is going to be in September....

My Candy white TSi is due for build week 21 so I can't wait. I was told 4-5 months delivery but if it comes in June it will be 3 months.

I guess it will be the same to drive as my 2006 vRS TSi but I think I'll go for the Eibach springs and then a remap (240bhp for £300!). I always liked the look of the MKII Octavia before I bought mine 3 yrs ago and I still remember the first drive over the A66 when I brought it home. The gear shift, driving position, handling and performance are excellent. It's such a great all rounder - performance, comfort, space, reliability, looks like a quality car without even driving it. I would have rather than an Audi or VW any day of the week.

For the money of a new one (even better with the discount) there is nothing even comes close. To think you could buy 2 vRS's for the price of 1 new Impreza STi!!!!!!

I'm not sure on the dark wheels but I definitely like the Zenith's better than the new wheels.

I love my Octavia vRS, and it's my third in a row. There's nothing out there to match it for performance, practicality and value for money. I've always driven VW, Audi or Skoda (previous cars TT V6 & Golf V5) and really wanted a Golf GTi or an R as there's just something about them, but I couldn't justify the extra £7k min for the GTi that it would cost over the vRS so it was a new brainer really.

I think the vRS looks great in white but it's too common now and wish I'd gone for black which is a rare sight. When I got my last vRS in white there weren't many about but every other vRS you see now is white, with most the others being race blue!

Also on our 3rd Skoda, Felecia and Felecia estate, Jokes by the dozen, went to Peugeot for a time (but I'm OK now) and now have an Octy estate.

Been 7 weeks now and not a single joke from anyone, changed days.

This is my first Skoda however it certainly won't be my last.

I've had mine since the end of January this year and it is simply fantastic
