Alarm going off for no reason

Recommended Posts

My alarm has gone off twice this evening for no reason.

The same thing happened about a week ago.

So I'm going to have to take the car in and get it checked out.

How can I disable the alarm?

I don't like waking people up - so if this carries on I'd like to disable the alarm until it can be looked at.

Hello 'Stoofa', my alarm is triggered by something, and by depressing and then releasing the black button in tailgate locking mechanism seems to do the trick.

I will add that this applies to my 2005 Fabia VRS.

Mine has been going off randomly over the last couple of days and is going into the dealers tomorrow, i have pressed the button on the "b" pillar to turn the interior sensors off and it seems to work, so must be a sensor fault.

Strong winds shaking the car might set it off.

Alternatively a fly or moth can set off the internal sensor.

I had this on our '09 Octavia, required a software upgrade to reduce the sensitivity, which took the dealer over 2 weeks (they were waiting for a disk from Skoada). I have not had it since though!

Thanks for the replies.

Now I know how to turn the internal sensors off - I'll do that if I keep on waking people up!

I've contacted my dealer and hopefully they will get it in soon and check for any faults.

OK - booked to go back to dealership.

I will mention having the system set to "60".

They just want to scan it to make sure there aren't any faulty sensors.

Cheers.
