skoda shopper taking some big boy scalps

Featured Replies

Hi guys here's a vid I did at croft last weekend in the wet, we had a bit of fun battling with the more exotic race cars

Nice video.

Was there anything there going faster than you on the track? or was this just selective editing :smirk: ... The Atom (And quite a few of the others) "Should" have left you for dead.

The car looked pretty sure footed in the wet as well, What tyres did you have on it?

We was out for 25mins and nothing came past  I have to admit though in the dry I was left for dead by most of the race cars but heyho we had some fun ;)

the cars the wifes its on conti's and standard, she only picked it up last week!!!!

Looks like you had a good day! Croft is a great track, especially since it's really not about straightline speed

Love the commentary from the passenger -"Thats just f***in embarrassing!!" Haha :giggle:

haha, What did you tell her? just going to the shops love...

I guess it is run in now as well.

On a relaited note, the Touring cars are at Croft this weekend.

Did you post this on Pistonheads too? Sure I saw it over there. They don't like it but that's usual for them. Good effort though although in the dry it would have been a different story

I just said I would take the car and run it in over the yorkshire moors :giggle: when she got in it on Monday morning she said "whats happened to the brakes" :D

You meet the nicest people in here

Brilliant.

Wringing the neck of that poor car lol :)

Mine is a week old and not used sport yet lol

Quite understandable really. I looked carefully and, like our Skoda drivers, I couldn't see the yellow flag either.

Had a quick look at the vid.. I've not done much driving on the track but it helps a lot if you at least take notice of the "recommended" turn-in and apex/exit points..which hardly any of the other drivers seemed to do !!! At least the skoda driver was having a good go... nice one Curly

I will be going to Croft in July..doing a Vauxhall/VXR trackday it's been a good laugh the last couple of years..Tom Onslow-Cole was taking people round doing fast laps..generally scaring the life out of people :giggle:

the track is wet, so the last thing you want to do in a RWD car is follow the racing line as it'll be crazy slippy so that'' be why they were going really slow and off line

What was your MPG on that run? :giggle:

Good video though, not driven my vRS for a few weeks. You have inspired me, I might take it out over the weekend and give it some pasty!

Ah well..just shows that sometimes a little knowledge is a dangerous thing :giggle:

I suspect that Curly was considerably more "enthusiastic" than most of em in that vid !

:smirk: Are you Nigel Mansell really?

 Toms a nice lad he did a round in the Dunlop sport maxx and Shaun Hollingby who both compete in the British touring cars, here is a small clip from Motors TV that I competed in 08, I was the one in the BMW it was my road car you can actually see the tax disc on the in car vid, I was the only one is the series that turn race put number plates back on and go home :)

Great vid and nice tidy driving

Another good drive there Curly !!! I suspected you had done that kind of thing before !!

Tom and Matt Neal were a good laugh.. we were getting pushed to "our" limits by the instructors..they were trying to get us on the right lines nice and smoothly etc..etc then you would get Tom & Matt overtaking/undertaking going about 30mph faster sideways :giggle:

There was a very nice girl instructor at Anglesey last year..most of us were tripping over our tongues

Where did you mount the camera? - was it on a tripod right behind the front seats?
