Xenon Lights

Featured Replies

someone at work has an octy with halogens and washers. It has Elegance wheels but thought xenons were standard on that?

Yeah I think the washers were standard with the Xenons. Any mk1 Octy Ive seen with the factory xenons have them.

Xenons are not standard on the elegance. Mine is an elegance and has washers but not xenons

Same applies to my 2001 TDI Elegance. Large washer bottle, washers but standard lights.

Hey Toast, when you see mine, it will be the exception :p

Thanks for posting that list though, interesting read.

Mine has standard lights, with no washer nozzles. Which was the base spec on the RS in the UK.

Personally I wouldn't want the over complicated and expensive xenon's on my car. Just more electrical items to fail!

If you find the standard lights too dim, then try some high quality bulbs and give the lenses a good clean.

I've just fitted some new Philips X-tremeVision bulbs (H4) to mine, and they are incredibly bright! Can't see myself needing any more light on the road. They state 100% more light on the road.

Previous to these bulbs I had the older Philips X-treme Power bulbs (80% more light, and now superceded) in for 3.5yrs. They were good bulbs, but these new versions are noticably brighter.

My dad was so blown away by them that he's making me order some for his car now! Try them out before you splash the cash on xenon's.

P.S. I also use the Philips BlueVision sidelight (W5W) and fog lamp (H3) bulbs.

Thanks for this, a much cheaper option.
