15 inch steel wheel for VRS

Featured Replies

Can i check with you guys if a 15inch steel wheel will fit onto the VRS without fowling claipers etc or is it too small?

Cheers

Rob

Iirc they are too small to fit over the 312mm discs.

16inch is the minimum.

oh b++ger! Thanks anyway! :p

The 16'' spare on mine is a snug fit round the front caliper so doubt 15'' would fit

Yep, thats why i had to get 16inch Winter Wheels for mine!

absolutely fantastic- there was one thinking he was getting a bargain on ebay, may as well take them down the local tip now! LOL!

Sell them on to a non vrs owner :)

My winters are 16" also to fit over the brakes

Sorry to borrow this thread a bit, but... :) Does anyone have/know exact specifications for 16" wheels for RS? I would need to get new wheels for my RS, and for winter I would be happy enough with 16". And I was thinking to find something on my own, not through Skoda service, since I have feeling I can get nicer looking ones for half the price :)

I had to get 17in winter wheels for my vRS.

But that's nothing to do with fouling the brakes, that's just cos I'm a tart and couldn't bear the thought of spending 5 months on weedy 16's :giggle:

Have a look in the winter tyres thread pinned at the start of this forum, but you will need 16x6.5 or 7J wheels with a PCD of 5x112. I'm not sure re offset-my VAG steelies are ET50 IIRC, but the offset is fairly critical to ensure the wheels clear the calipers, as is the design of the wheel spokes. Tyres would need to be 205/55 to match the original's rolling circumference and ensure speedo accuracy.

Any VAG 16" wheels from a Mk5 Golf/Mk2 Leon?Audi A4 from 2004ish on etc should be OK, for example these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-ALLOY-WHEELS-VW-CADDY-T4-TRANSPORTER-T25-BAY-CAMPER-/280709693114?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item415b99feba

Not sure what "T5" refers to, but I've had the standard 16" steel spare on the front of my vRS with no issues.

Transporter T5

I dont think they will fit as they are 5x120mm fitment whereas the Octy is 5 x 112.

Spot on. T5s use a 5x120, 55 offset.

Am i right in thinking that T4's will fit?

Great, bought the wrong set twice now!!! If I went for the 16inch vw caddy wheels, could I swap over the tyres from the t5 onto them or would that not work?

What i can't work out is that if I buy a set of steels without tyres, how do I know what size tyres fit, I know if I buy 16 inch rims then I need 16 inch tyres but how do I work out if certain tyre sizes fit other rims, for example the width of the tyre on specific rims?

I think for thar size its 205/55/16

Nearly made the mistake of getting these when I was on the hunt for winter wheels.

Also looked at these, iirc the PCD is right, but they are only available in 15"......I think!

T4s are 5x112, confirmed.

Not sure on offset for their OEM wheels though.

Yep, they'd work quite well. As you say, spigot rings to bring them down to VAG 57.1 emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Offset is good

They're 4x100 so don't.

Depends which version ;)

The '2K', third gen Caddy - 2004 onwards, is based on a Mk5 Golf, so uses 5x112.

Oh yeah. D'oh! Forgot speedlines and bentleys etc go straight on them.
