Hey

I love the spec.. ! Nice car!

Can I ask you a couple of questions?:

1. Do you get a plan of the car on the screen when you select reverse which shows the objects nearby?

2. Would you have got maxidot if you'd added bluetooth? I want the nav (£525), but also want bluetooth (£335) and the maxidot (£155).. seems a lot of extra cash!

Can you give us your impressions of the engine?

Thanks!

Jake

Just had a puncture ... 53 miles!!!!! Baaaassssstarrrrddddd!!!!!

Nooooooooooooooo! :'(

Still a great looking Monte though, sick with envy!

nice motor enjoy

Cool thanks.

I think the MY12 Sat nav no longer has maxidot. Although I think that it is not possible to have bluetooth phone prep without maxidot. I assume every skoda which has bluetooth installed has maxidot by default (otherwise how would you set it up?). So to get maxidot + sat nave + bluetooth I don't need to add the extra maxidot (£155).

The sat nav looks really nice and makes the interior much nicer, it is cool that it integrates with the parking sensors etc.

I'm ordering a black monte hopefully tomorrow, so want to get the specs sorted. Dealers seem to know less than me!

Yes.. I will add it and then try and prove my point and get the money back. You should kick up a fuss, at least get the cost of maxidot back from the dealer - as it was included in your original order. The previous brochure clearly stated sat nav came with maxidot.

Unlucky with the puncture :(

I hadn't had one for years, then when I bought my 1.5 Suzuki Swift I had 2 punctures in a year. Both could be repaired, but I was glad of the spare wheel. Then I went to the Swift Sport which can't have a spare because a huge exhaust takes up the spare wheel well. I was bricking it since it has a unique tyre size that nobody ever has in stock, and a can of foam. Not a single puncture. Nor in the Hyundai Coupe, nor in the Fabia.

Not that I'm complaining :)

I was looking up tyre costs today and strangely my tyres cost more than yours :S

Oh noooo! Not the Dunlops :(

Expensive, not that grippy and very noisy. Best thing about them is you can change them for something better when you wear them out.

Wait until they wear a bit :( They aren't the preferred tyre for the vRS guys, the Continentals are miles better for grip, but they wear very fast. Two good replacements are Toyo T1-R and Falken 452. Both are less than £70 each from Camskill.

I've run the Toyos before and really liked them, my brother is running the Falkens on his Octy vRS and is very happy with them. He had the Dunlops on his Octy and they were rubbish.

Lovely looking car! Can't wait for mine...

Out of interest, do the alloys have a silver lip or is it just a reflection?

These will be staying on there for a while and then I'll go for whatevers reasonably priced and not... pish at the time lol :)!

Im worried, does the TSI use a lot of oil etc? I've heard the VRS guys complaining

Mine doesn't use a drop. Don't baby it early on, just drive it normal. I've always done that with new cars and I haven't had issues with oil use on any of them. Well, the Mk1 vRS used a tiny bit, but that's not unusual with diesel.

Do keep an eye on it just to be sure.

Thanks for the heads up on the maxidot. As far as I am concerned skoda better supply mine with it as that is what I ordered.

Email sent to the dealer. Great car, looking forward to mine now.
