any of these remedies acually get the grime OUT of the trim?mine seems to be full of cr4p

seems that all the polishing and waxing has ingrained the trim.

i just wish they had put smooth trim on instead of the stippled variety

If you look at the pic of mine, before i cleaned the bump strips they had not been done properly since last october / november and had a distinct white colour about them.

The cloth i used was filthy when i finished, although the local squirrel population seemed to like it :D

Peanut butter applied to trim today....the shiny bits are courtesy of Swissol

Don't clean the car , then everything is a nice even grey :D

That why I but silver cars - they dont show stone chips and they just go darker silver when dirty. :D

Would tyre dressing work well on plastics? I've heard of people using it on other bits but tyres... And I have a brand new bottle of it here. :)

I would question how long a tyre dressing product would last on other bits of trim? Worth trying though I suppose

Try using some clean engine oil, not tried it myself, but was talking to a guy from work yesterday, and commented on how "black" his inserts looked on his 97 BMW and he told me this is what he used  , or just get them painted body colour like l did :D:D

Engine oil?!?

Must depend on what you're trying to get blacker - put oil on anything rubber and you'll rot it straight away.

And don't mention it to my mate, thats how he came to have another kid last year

Yep, baby oil and jankers dont mix.

As for tyre dressing on plastic trim, if its the silicon stuff dont, as any paint repairs will be a total nightmare to do if silicon is on the paint.

I use a mixture of used oil and petrol - about 50:50

Comes up a treat and lasts well.

Prolly not recommended for smokers
