Car pulls to the left heavily (told this is a characteristic yet some cars dont do it?)

Sorry to hear that little progress has been made to fix your(maybe)car, I have a new TSI 105 only 5 days since I collected it and it steers dead neutral.

It does not pull to the left at all. So it is not a characteristic of the model.

I have bought 23 cars in my long life mainly foreign, and have never been offered a car which pulled to one side.

It is something one takes for granted. I would not accept a car with this fault.

Bloody hell mate that sucks.

I would start writing down all the things that are going wrong, make a note of conversations, note when the car goes in, condition when it comes out, etc

Ring the finance company - they can advise if you are not happy with the work they've done so far

Good.

Really sucks how many problems you've had though.

Besides my oil issue (which might in all honesty just need an Italian tune up to cure) mInes been great :-/

Oh heck! I was sure they'd fix it. You must be really sick of the car now. Keep pushing, it's not acceptable. You must be spending so much time on this.

Sorry to hear that, keep us posted on what happens.

Thats real bad news.

Thats shocking treatment and based on my experience very un Skoda.

Doubt they have the skills to fix it. I would cut your losses and reject it and then publish the reg plate on here. May make it harder for them to sell on or am I being vindictive?

Often wonder if the dealers or SUK read this forum, i know we are all a bunch of obsessive maniacs but some of this info must be gold compared to the phone surveys they do. When I bought my Mini a key part of the decision process was to look on the relevant forum.

Adam, sounds tough and I think id reject the car too, especially as its brand new.....it should be perfect. As a tip though, I had the issue with the passenger window the other week. Controls on both sides not working, fix was to reset the windows by using the key. From outside, put key into drivers side lock, turn anti clock and hold for a few seconds then clock wise and hold until both windows go down by themselves, then do the reverse and they will shut by themselves. Now try the controls and see if it works again. For the record my fabia (non monte) does not pull to the left, if its not tracking perhaps its a dodgy cv joint or malformed tyre? Also I don't get any odd rattles unless the speakers are on too loud. Hth a little.

Very sorry to hear all this Adam. Clearly not a good situation for you. Whatever you decide to do, it will be understandable. However, I do think you have been terribly unlucky. Your experience is just not typical of buying a new Skoda either with the car itself or the dealer. Good luck in whatever you do with the car.

I have the odd couple of rattles. To be honest I have learnt to accept that no car is perfect- and if dealers try and fix rattles, they quite often can make them worse.

Thankfully the dealer fixed my engine rattle (the common 1.2 TSI issue you told me about adam) and balanced my tyres too which fix the vibration through the steering wheel.

However a door was misaligned and they haven't manage to fix it- I'm leaving it as I sometimes think you've got to cut your losses and accept things are never perfect.

This is mine though. It was one year old when I bought it.

You do seem to have too many issues for a new car so you do have a good case for rejecting.

These rattles btw they're not like little tiny buzzing/rattle sounds they're extremely audible and can be heard OVER a conversation.

That is bad- beyond a rattle it seems!

Rattle by B pillar/seat (this is a new one)

Rattle in rear passenger door (just as bad)

Got those two, gonna get them fixed in the winter (since I won't be needing the car then).

I also had a really annoying sound coming from the center-fan on low rews...

Low in volume, but kinda high-pitched!

This is however fixed, not the dealers but a garage with volkswagen-support that did it!

Sorry to hear that you are really unsatisfied with your Fabia, shame on the dealer for being... well, what most dealers are like here in Sweden =/.

Definately shouldn't be rattling to that extent. Not on a few week old car!

Our is now 7 years old and barely a rattle or squeek can be heard!

Phil

I feel sorry for you ,considering the amount of extras you purchased & the time you've waited for the car it's indeed very poor show from Skoda & your dealer. Can only say from my own experience ownership has been the opposite to you a complete joy.

Must say we found the Exeter dealer here in Devon very good.

Looking back at Toyota as never had any problems with them and the dealerships are so helpful.

Agreed there Adam my dads Toyota has been in for three recalls this year alone and they've been great each time they pick it up and deliver it back clean and tidy. Did you go back to the same dealer or use another?

Dealership are not accepting the rejection so onto FOS next and to hound the finance company

I'll bear that in mind if they cannot resolve my issues.

What is the reason for not accepting the rejection? Make sure you get a wriiten response rather than verbal. They need to do that, if they dont send another letter recorded delivery to them.

Junior and evrn sales managers may talk tough but it is above their pay grade to write letters so they will have to raise it higher.

Keeping things verbal is a great way of hiding stuff from the boss. My mate used to have to handle this stuff ie write letters for a big dealer group and when the letter uncovered the truth a few people felt it.

have you taken the manager/technician out with your whilst your driving to show them where the rattles are coming from?

+1

Plus take a video camera/phone or something that maybe can record the noises. Let him drive the car.

Also ask to drive another Monte, they must have one somewhere for you to compare.

Keep us posted.
